Blood Suckers

Sitting in my car I suddenly realize I had a mosquito bite. Then another…. I didn’t see mosquito, but I sure felt it. Mosquitoes swarm me the moment I step outside. I could end up with 10 bites while the rest of my companions have none. The sneaky insect made me think. Such a tiny thing to cause a miserable bite or even worse terrible sickness. It’s like sin. One little sin creeps up and tries to take a bite. Others follow and if you don’t smash the mosquito you will be miserable, sick or in some severe cases even die.
Now the Bible doesn’t specifically talk about mosquitoes, although there were plagues of gnats and flies, but it does talk about leeches. Another disgusting blood sucking creature. In Proverbs 30 verse 15 it talks about the leech that has two daughters “crying, give give.” Leeches are never full, they suck life and are greedy for more. The previous verse discusses those who devour the poor and the needy. Satan is always trying to attack Christians and drain away their spiritual life by tempting them to give in to sin. So whether it is greed or another sin, Satan will always tempt us to more and more.
But leeches and mosquitoes can be stopped. A nice bug zapper, a can of OFF or salt can do the trick to a bug or leech and the salt of the Word can do a number on sin. Don’t let the salt of the Word loose its flavor. Savor it, delight in it. Spend time in it!

Friday Greetings Family And Friends!

So, any Play-Doh fans out there? Come on old-timers, I know you’re out there! Our parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren, have all played with this squishy, smelly, can of fun. Now for myself, I tried in my younger years to mold this doh into a work of art. My creation would never have made it into the museum of art, but into the museum of, I need a good laugh. How about you, did you make some amazing handmade originals? To tell you the truth, I just liked to squish it in my hand! You too? I knew it, Hahaha!

Play-Doh has been around a long time, and didn’t become a child’s toy until 1956. Before it was a toy it was used as a wallpaper cleaner.

Now over 3 billion cans of this fun have been sold.

This is my favorite part of the story, Play-Doh was created to be a wallpaper cleaner, not a kids toy. From a clump of cleaning doh, to one of the most popular kids toys in history. The amazing potential of the product wasn’t in a cleaning product, but a child’s toy!

Kinda sounds like us wouldn’t you agree? Isaiah 64:8 tells us that Father God is the potter, we are the clay, and we are the work of His hands. We are a lump of clay in the Father Hands. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, the Father begins to mold us into the image of His Son! If you’re not shouting by now, you better check your pulse!

Just like the story of Play-Doh, the potential of the product was not in its original form. Our potential also, wasn’t found in our original form. God sent His Son to save, and redeem us, from a sinful world.

Thank You Jesus!!! My dear friends, you have Amazing Potential in Jesus! Surrender your life now to God, and let Him form and mold you into perfection! The you, you were meant to be!

Because the Father is the potter and I’m the clay, guess what? I’m not getting off the wheel. I’m staying put, so He can mold me daily into the man of God He’s called me to be! How about you?
