EcoAmerica and its faith-based program Blessed Tomorrow are continuing to spread the word about a series of short films that can serve as an educational resource and a fount of inspiration for congregations as the Season of Creation approaches.

Now that we’ve reviewed all our values of welcome, worship, servant leadership, and fellowship, Pastor Devon walked the congregation through how the Matthew 25 initiative has helped to shape the life and ministry of Wintergarden Presbyterian Church. The initiative was brought before the PCUSA General Assembly in 2016, and we joined the initiative in 2018/2019. At the core of this initiative are three pillars: congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. (No small tasks, indeed!) Beneath those are intersectional priorities, including climate change, gender justice and heteropatriarchy, and militarism.

The mobile library will be here Thursday before pantry.

Books first. Groceries next. Look at Thursday being an overachiever.

The Charlotte County Mobile Library will be inside Wintergarden Presbyterian this Thursday from 8:30–10:30 AM, just before Nurturing the Neighborhood on Wintergarden Food Pantry gets rolling!

If you’re coming for pantry day, come a little early and browse. Grab a book or DVD, use the Wi-Fi or printing services, and check out what else the Mobile Library brought along.
