The Youth had a fun time Wednesday (5/30/18) at the Yankie's house. The swimming was good with the hot weather, good hamburgers, and the zip line brought lots of laughs.

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth.
Psalm 127:3-4

The Bible tell us in Proverbs 29:18; Where there is no vision the people perish .....
I have always thought that OTBC had a God given vision in building up of God's church to make it ready for Jesus' return. He has helped us at OTBC to overcome insurmountable odds,
one obstacle after another and we had the patience to listen and wait on God and for that he has blessed us in every way possible.
He will continue to do this as long as we do not become weary in well doing. The Bible tells us not to grow weary in well doing. In the epistles written by the Apostle Paul, he had some sound advice for the church. Beginning in Romans 2:1-7; 1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that
judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou
the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: When we rely totally on preference instead of principle we will lose our vision and we will perish. Not confirmed by our words but by God’s WORD! I encourage everyone to join in with us on our mission to honor and serve him in all that we do. Thank you Jesus for looking beyond our faults and offering us eternal life. When will we learn it is not about us but about him? ALL WON’T! Remember the words of Jesus in Matt 7:13-14; “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Above all things and stuff envision this and accept it as truth.

All too often it seems like when we need help from above is when we have exhausted ourselves and have no other way to turn, then we turn to God.
But let us not be disheartened but in our lack let us be encouraged. So let our hearts not be troubled for God is there even when we have ignore him and he is always there when we need him. We came into this world in need. In James 5:16 it says“ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Sunday we are having dinner on the ground, bring your favorite dish and bring someone with you. A good time will be had by all, everyone is welcome.
We continue to put forth an effort in having a bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesday nights and also a Sunday Evening Service that includes choir practice. All in an effort to serve and honor God in the building up of his church. Please pray for our efforts in seeking out servant leaders in the church and that God would give us fruit from our labors. Let us be a church on the move reaching out to the needy and the lost. The good news is that God has given us an opportunity to minister and we can do it together at OTBC.Continue to pray for all our in-house needs but also in our community and for all our state and government leaders.
God’s Love to all!

Easter is passed for so many and the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord will be forgotten or not be remembered until another year has passed. Easter begins on Good Friday but it was not so good for Jesus, for him, it was the day he died and was buried, but the good news for us that the grave could not hold him, on Sunday he arose and these events changed the entire world. Please don’t let your Easter be only what happened in the past and lay hold of the same power that raised Jesus up, so that we too might be lifted up on that last day, to live forever with our Lord. There is no shortcut to heaven we have to die to get there unless Jesus returns first. We just need to accept what Jesus made possible at Easter. Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
What about it, are you ready?

Easter is a very special time of the year, not only for the saved but also for the lost. I wanted to make sure that everyone had been invited to church Sunday, so we welcome everyone to come worship with us at OTBC. We are having a special Easter Program as no doubt there will be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Invite or bring someone with you. God would be honored, and everyone including yourself, would be blessed by your presence including the pastor.
Let us all pray that the truths surrounding the Easter events, (Jesus’ death, his burial and his resurrection), would draw us all closer to God. When Easter becomes real to you, then Jesus’ will reveal himself to you and others through you.
Our contribution to life is not found in what we get but rather it’s found in what we give. Jesus’ plight in life mirrors a picture of giving. He did his part in giving himself to us, now it is our turn to do our part in giving ourself to him. Knowing Jesus for who he really is and what he did is a life changing experience with eternal consequences. Jesus said in John‬ ‭12:32‬; “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”
Easter is about us lifting Jesus up. James told us in James 4:8; “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you”. We are privileged people to have a means by which we are able to get closer to God.
‭‭
So this Easter let’s lift Jesus up in our hearts and praise him for who he really is, “The Savior of the world”. Make sure he is yours, for without him Easter has no value to you.
