Funeral services for Mr. Buddy Ellis will be held at 2PM Friday, September 19, 2025, at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Fred Hartley and Bro. Paul Sims officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening 5-8PM and Friday afternoon 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Bro. Buddy was a faithful and devoted deacon and member of Pleasant Grove for many years and will be truly missed but we know he is in the presence with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please continue to keep the Ellis family in your prayers.

PONTOTOC - James R. Buddy Ellis, Jr., 83, passed away September 16, 2025, at his home peacefully, surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Buddy was born September 25, 1941, to James R. Ellis Sr. and Ruth Williams Ellis in Shannon, MS. Buddy graduated from Shannon High School in 1959.

The annual Pleasant Grove Cemetery Memorial day will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Sunday June 1st beginning at 10:30 am. The morning services will include congregational singing and special music by Sue Brown Harrison and Marilyn Gillespie. Bro. David Clark will bring the morning message and then a cemetery business meeting will follow. As always a fellowship lunch under the pavilion will wrap up the days events. Please spread the word and we look forward to seeing everyone there!
