We knew the Grand Opening was going to be a special day.
What has been even more exciting is seeing what has happened since.

This past Sunday, we had another packed house, welcomed lots of new faces, shared a meal together, and continued building the community that God is creating here at The Neighborhood Church.

A few weeks ago, we were gathering in the back of Sprout. Today, we’re seeing new people finding connection, belonging, and community every week at the Webster Community Center.
We’re grateful for the growth. We’re grateful for the momentum. We’re grateful for every person who has pulled up a chair at the table.

But we’re even more excited about what comes next.

We believe God is doing something beautiful in our neighborhood, and we’re excited to continue this journey together—to keep sharing meals, building relationships, welcoming new neighbors, and participating in all the ways God is already at work in West Pontiac.

This new location was not the destination. It was just the beginning.
We can’t wait to see what God does next.

Here are a few moments from our Grand Opening at The Neighborhood Church.

What a joy it was to gather together for worship, share a meal, celebrate, and begin this new chapter in our story. We are so grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make this day so special.

But this is just the beginning.

The Neighborhood Church isn't just an event. It's a community. A place where neighbors become friends, where meals are shared, where questions are welcomed, and where we seek to follow Jesus together.

One of my favorite pictures from The Neighborhood Church Grand Opening, our neighbor Ms. Annie sitting with my son Cooper. Ms. Annie is 89 and moved to Pontiac from Alabama in the 1950's. She has lived here and done so much for our community over all these years, and I am so thankful that Cooper gets to know Ms. Annie.

Our hearts are full after the Grand Opening of The Neighborhood Church.

What a beautiful evening of worship, community, food, conversation, laughter, and hope. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this day so special.

Thank you to our neighbors who have welcomed us, encouraged us, and shared this journey with us from the very beginning.

Thank you to our music leaders and worship team for helping create a space where we could encounter God together.

Thank you to our partner churches, the staff of the Southeast Michigan Synod, and everyone throughout the ELCA who has supported, encouraged, prayed for, and invested in this ministry.

Thank you to the Micah 6 Community and team. Thank you for giving rides, running Kids Church, setting up tables and chairs, and showing so much love to our neighborhood.

A few weeks ago, we were gathering in the back of our vegetable store, Sprout. Today, we are gathering as The Neighborhood Church in the Webster Community Center. Through every step of the journey, we have seen God's faithfulness and God's love at work through the people of this neighborhood.

This Grand Opening is not the end of a journey—it is the beginning of a new chapter.
We are excited for what comes next. We are excited to continue building community, sharing meals, seeking justice, proclaiming the love of Jesus, and joining in all the ways God is already at work in West Pontiac.
