If you don't know Jesus ... (yet)
Knowing Jesus begins with believing that He is our Savior who defeated death. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Knowing God also means believing that He died to save us from our sins. "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24). When you believe in Christ's message, you are accepted into His family (John 1:12). John 3:16 has even more good news! The people who know Jesus and believe in Him "should not perish but have eternal life." Knowing Jesus is not based on our works but on placing our faith in Him. Our understanding of Christ is only possible through Jesus' death for our sins. Romans 5:8 teaches, "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This means that it is not by works that we can know Christ, but through the grace that Jesus bought for us with His life. Ephesians 2:8-9 also explains, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." If you believe that Jesus is who He said He is and want to accept His offer to be your Savior, you can pray something like this: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and apart from you deserve only judgment. I believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son who came to earth to live the perfect life that I couldn't. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. Then He rose again after three days, proving He is true and offering salvation and eternal life to all who put their faith in Him. Please forgive me for my sins and help me live for you. I want to know Jesus personally. Thank you for accepting me and giving me eternal life." If you have put your faith in Jesus today, we would love to help you as you begin your journey. John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
1 John 4:11
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Have you ever felt like you were hitting a wall? The mountain in front of you will not move. You cannot climb it; you cannot go around it.
As we enter Holy Week, let us reflect on how Jesus might have felt the last week of His life.
As He carried the cross, the weight was unbearable. Ever feel like that in your life? Are things “unbearable”?
Do you think Jesus felt like He was hitting a wall? Was the mountain in front of Him too big to climb? Do you remember how He asked the Father to “remove this cup from me” (Luke 22:42) and He sweat drops of blood (v. 44)?
Jesus continued climbing the mountain for you and for me. Despite how “unbearable” the task He continued.
Take time to think about the mountain you are facing this Holy Week. Are you turning it over to God? The mountain will change as you take it to Him in prayer.
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

How do I know I have eternal life?

Jesus said to her [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25–26).

LWML Who we are...

Serve the Lord with gladness (Psalm 100:2a).

What is the Lutheran Women's Missionary League?

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League started over 77 years ago. The organization has changed through the years to stay current with the times, but the mission statement remains the same: “… to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.” The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). It has as its "mission heart" thousands of volunteers who are daily dedicating their lives to making a difference in this world. It is also “Lutheran Women in Mission,” a phrase that reflects the object of the LWML, adopted by the Board of Directors in January 1998.

It is women who are finding avenues to use their God-given talents as they meet the challenge to share the Gospel message. It is composed of individual women and women's groups within congregations of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, on campuses, in resident homes, or in other settings.
