We are currently in need of several high-priority items to support our neighbors in Jacksonville Beach. If you’re doing some spring cleaning or heading to the store this weekend, please consider picking up a few things from our list:

• Clothing: Men’s shorts/jeans (size 36 & smaller) and new underwear (all sizes/genders).
• Footwear: Men’s running shoes (size 9+).
• Hygiene: Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.
• Outdoor Essentials: Bug spray, sunscreen, baseball caps, and backpacks.
• Linens: Bath towels and washcloths.

On that morning, please place non-perishable food items out for your mail carrier. Together, we can make a significant difference. This annual event helps fill food pantries and assists those facing food insecurity throughout the county.

Join us for a Panel Discussion on May 7th at 12:00 pm ET. Over the course of time, grief changes us at a deep level. Our outlook on life and our attitude toward others is profoundly affected. A panel of grievers, all of whom have been on the "grief road" for over twenty years, will share lessons they have learned since the death of their child. They will share how they survived the "worst." They will also respond to questions from the newly bereaved.

Presenter: Dennis Apple is co-leader of the Johnson county, KS TCF group and also serves as staff pastor at The Church of The Resurrection in Leewood, KS. He facilitates a weekly online support group for bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. He is the author of two books: “Life After the Death of My Son” and “Runaway Griever.” He is a frequent workshop presenter at the national TCF gatherings. Dennis and his wife, Buelah live in Olathe, KS. They have one son, Andrew, who lives with his wife, Amber, in Leavenworth, KS. He is a bereaved father who lost his son, Denny, in 1991.
