MAGA THE CAMOUFLAGED ATHEIST CULT!
American Evangelical Christians tend to self-identify as "oppressed" with the children of Israel. In fact, our (national and religious) systems of power and privilege make us more like the Egyptians (of Biblical times) than like the Jews.…maybe that's why so many church folks are offended at the protests …especially those who appear to have "cast off restraint" because there is no vision left? (Proverbs 29:18)
If it wasn't a protest, what do you call it when Shadrech, Meshech, and Abednigo refused to obey the "law of the land and bow down?
Was it not protest when Moses mother refused obey the law of the land to let him be slaughtered?
Was it not protest when the wise men refused to report back to Herod the whereabouts of the new "King"?…or when Mary and Joseph refused to obey the edict calling for all boys under 2 to be killed and became refugees (probably "illegal") to Egypt instead?
There is no moral Biblical mandate to obey immoral unjust laws.
Self-righteous folks who object to protest and want sudden "unity" could eliminate the need for "protest" if they would advocate as much for the rights of the oppressed as for their own pocketbook.
Let's remember that scripture mandates we protect the "foreigner" the "oppressed" the "hungry" and the "fatherless." It's not our duty to determine how they became that way, were just supposed to protect them and show them the love, help restore them to life and health in Messiah, not use our power, privilege or resources to pile on bigotry, our racism and classism.
