Last night we didn’t just talk about resilience; we built it.
Each table was given spaghetti and marshmallows with one simple challenge:
Build the tallest tower you can… that can actually stand.
At first it felt light and fun.
But quickly it became something deeper.
The spaghetti alone was too fragile.
The marshmallows alone were too soft.
It required strategy, trial and error, communication, encouragement — and community.
Some towers fell.
Some leaned.
Some had to be rebuilt more than once.
And that was the point.
Resilience isn’t about never collapsing.
It’s about learning how to rebuild.
It’s about using what you have.
It’s about standing upright because you’re supported.
Our kids are the same.
They need:
• relationships that hold them steady
• safe spaces to fail
• encouragement to try again
• and a community that reminds them they don’t have to build alone
Last night reminded us that resilience isn’t toughness, it’s connection.
And just like those towers, we’re stronger together 🤍
