The Blessings Food Pantry is a ministry of Christ Church with the mission of supporting those in need in Broward County, Florida, with food, prayer and other necessities as available. Could you be a food delivery hero?
This beautiful food-hauling truck needs needs a volunteer driver on Monday and Wednesday mornings, 8-11am. This volunteer will pick up food from three grocery stores and deliver to the Blessings Food Pantry. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a background check. Thank you, Acacia Animal Hospital, for blessing us with your food drive. Not only did we receive hundreds of pounds of food for our guests but also food for our guests' pets. There were also blankets for our friends, right before the cold snap. Thank you for caring about every person and pet in our community.

A huge thank you to the local chapter of the American Nephrology Nurses Association for their service and financial contribution to The Blessings Food Pantry. Group members volunteered at the pantry last Wednesday, giving many of our regular servants a day off. It was a busy day -- we served 62 households with produce from United Way Broward's Project Lifeline and other donations. The pantry was then recognized with a gift from the national organization. Hi friends, We're in need of canned food donations for our guests of the food pantry. Donations can be brought to the pantry, 100 NE 44th St., Deerfield Beach, 9-11:30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or to the Fort Lauderdale Campus, weekdays, 9am-4pm. The most needed items are:
Canned tuna or chicken*
Canned* or boxed soups
Cereals
Instant potatoes
Tomato sauce
Rice
Pasta
Mac n Cheese
Canned beans*
Canned vegetables*
Jelly
Peanut Butter
Coffee/tea
Canned fruits*

Helping the hungry and hurting

If you open your heart to the hungry, and provide abundantly for those who are afflicted, your light will shine in the darkness, and your gloom will be like the noon. (Isaiah 58:10)

Since 2004, First United Methodist Church of Pompano Beach, which later merged with Christ Church of Fort Lauderdale, has reached out to help its neighbors by providing food and prayer.

Volunteers offer available fresh produce, canned goods and even frozen items to those in need Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings. Prayer and occasionally other necessities are available.

Partnerships with the United Way of Broward, Publix, Feeding South Florida and other generous businesses in our community provides food that can be prepared at home. The church’s refrigerated van is available to pick up donations.
