Here’s a shout out to Team Thor for visiting Foster the Family Florida in July! Unfortunately, in August the Standard Poodles had to cancel at the last minute due to a health concern. Ministry Teammate Fran, Handlers Cindy & John, and TherapyDogs Gandy & Poppy supported Saturday’s Monthly Respite Night at Calvary Chapel Sarasota. Fran visited each child to hear prayer praises and requests while Teams Gandy & Poppy did Gentle Greetings.
It was “Cavaletti Week” and means the pups and peeps going through various pool noodle and orange cone challenges, like what the pups have been doing this week. However, for some challenges, peeps served as cones and noodles. How can one tell the difference between cones/noodles and kids? The kids giggle - a lot. The kids REALY liked it when Gandy & Poppy hopped over them when they formed “ladder” steps and when the pups wove and spiraled around them. Everyone also tried playing “Limbo,” which is a game that Team Thor recently introduced to the Suncoast Comfort Canines 4 Christ group. Such fun controlled chaos!
“Through Faith And Trust In God, I Can Do Great Things” is the title of our new Passage of the Week Series. Below are Cindy’s notes from this week’s Message, “Noah - An Obedient Servant.”
God created the earth and everything in it including people. God loves all of His creation and wants us to walk with Him through life but God created people to freely choose how they want to live their lives.
Long ago during Noah’s time, all people had chosen to live evil lives, all people except Noah. Noah walked with God. God told Noah that He was going to flood the earth. God told Noah to build a really big ship. God told Noah to build the ship so big that 2 of every living creature could fit on it. God told Noah to bring enough food to last for over a year.
God gave Noah a really big job! What did Noah do? “Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.” (Genesis 6:22 ESV)
Because Noah walked with God and did what God commanded him to do, Noah and his family were safe from the flood.
The story of Noah and the ark is a true story. The story of Noah is an example for us of how to walk with God through Jesus.
- Noah chose to build the ark and he lived through the flood.
- We can choose to walk with Jesus and live forever with Him.
- Because Noah walked with God, God helped Noah. God brought all of the animals. God closed the door to the ark when the rain began.
- If we choose to walk with God through Jesus, the Holy Spirit will be with us always as our helper throughout our lives.
How do we walk with Jesus? We believe that He is God who died for our sins. We pray to God and tell Him that Jesus is our Lord.
- Believe
- Pray
- Read God’s Word
- Be with others who walk with Jesus.
- Follow God’s commands.
That’s walking with Jesus. Through faith and trust in God, you can do great things!
