Shalom. This evening, Thursday, May 21, marks the start of our Shavuot festival, celebrating the harvest of “First Fruits,” and the role of Torah in the lives of the Jewish people.

At TBI, we will mark this beginning at 6pm with a special event for our Beit Sefer families, a pizza dinner and the opportunity to hear the chanting of the “Asseret Dibrot (Ten Commandments)”.

This will be followed by a ‘Tikkun Leil Shavuot” study session at which we will screen the initial episodes of the HBO MAX series “Reformed,” during which we will also offer a “Blintz and Cheesecake Buffet” as the festival can be connected to dairy foods in that Torah is thought of as the “mother’s milk of the Jews.” In-person only.

Friday morning, Rabbi and Cantor will lead. Shavuot Festival Morning Service in the sanctuary and online (Facebook and YouTube) which will also include the chanting of the Ten Commandments and Yizkor memorial prayer.
