This past Easter weekend is one I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
I had the privilege of taking our teen group to Ohio Teens for Christ, where the theme was “Broken to Healed.” And let me tell you…these students didn’t just hear that message—they experienced it. They leaned into some deep, real truths about how near God is to the broken, and how Jesus meets us right in the middle of our mess.
As a student minister, I can honestly say I feel incredibly blessed. I love these kids more than I can put into words. This generation faces pressures, distractions, and temptations at a level I don’t think any previous generation has had to navigate. And yet…this weekend, I watched them worship in a way that challenged me.
Hands raised. Voices shouting. Joyful, unashamed praise.
It reminded me so much of David—worship that wasn’t concerned with appearances, just a heart fully given to God.
We laughed together, we worshipped together, we encouraged one another—and most of all, we experienced genuine fellowship.
On Friday night during our reflection time, I told them something that had been on my heart...
That we could sing every song, attend every session, and still walk away unchanged…if we weren’t willing to let God actually work in us.
But I truly believe they took that to heart.
I believe they left different.
I believe God moved.
I believe seeds were planted that will bear fruit for years to come.
To our church family—thank you. Thank you for supporting, praying for, and investing in these students. Ministry like this doesn’t happen without you.
And most of all, thank You, God…for what You did this weekend.
There is no greater truth to celebrate than this—
our Savior is not in the grave.
He is risen.
And because He lives, healing is possible…even for the broken.
