Happy Mother’s Day! Today’s scripture comes from the Book of John 14:15-21. Verse 18 “I will not leave you orphaned;”This is the most tender verse in this scripture. Jesus speaks like a loving parent comforting frightened children. On this Mother’s Day, those words carry even greater meaning. One of the greatest reflections of God‘s nurture and love is often seen through mothers. Many Godly mother’s comforts, a Godly mother encourages, a Godly mother sacrifices. A Godly mother stays present when life becomes difficult. Many of us can remember moments when a mother sat beside us during sickness, prayed over us during hardship, and reminded us to trust God when we were discouraged. That nurturing present points us toward the heart of God today we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, Spiritual mothers, and all women who have shown Christlike love. We also recognize Mother’s Day can be difficult for some those grieving and mothers who have passed, those longing to become mothers, those carrying broken relationships, and those who feel forgotten today. The promise of Jesus reaches every hurting heart. I will not leave you orphaned what humanity longs for most is lasting presence. Christ promises exactly that. Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️
