Abraham knew God as Jehovah Jireh! The Almighty God is MY Provider!!! GOD allows the test of our love and knowledge of who He really is. He will even ask us to sacrifice our promise from HIM to prove us! Is He absurd? Absolutely not! You are if you know Him as Jehovah Jireh and yet are unwilling to choose the Blessor over the blessing! You cannot love the blessing more than the One who gave it. I would be conflicted briefly to give up my spouse and children with whom I have been blessed. But, I don't love those blessings more than God, so if I have to choose sacrifice of obedience or sacrifice of their life blood; I will obey! Obedience is accountable for righteousness and the righteous have their blessing multiplied not divided. Remember, the promises of God are not revoked, His promise is I will bless and you will be a blessing! Just because He proves our ability to handle that kind of treasure doesn't mean He is a liar revoking His promise! Now, take the blessing and offer it to God and prove that you are one blessed that is capable of being a blessing! A great name comes by loving The Great Name more than your hearts desire, your own soul and with all your might. You will have loss of nothing! GEN 22
