What a GREAT day to be at Rocky Mount❤️⛪️ the first Sunday of our New Church Year😊

Today was a very special worship service as Pastor Tony Thomas ( Prospect Baptist Church) did an amazing job leading our Deacon Ordination Service. We are excited to welcome our newly elected Deacon, Brett Morton, to our Deacon Board.

Pastor Tony reminded us of what a Deacon is called to be — a leader, a servant and a person who meets the qualifications set forth in God’s Word. As Brett steps into new waters, we are praying for him and his sweet wife Heather and their children Adlee, Mazey and Anson.
We know he will be a tremendous asset to RMBC and we are excited to see how God will use him!

Pastor Tony also gave us some food for thought today. He asked a simple but very important question:

Do you know Jesus or do you just know who Jesus is?

If someone asked you, “Who is Jesus?” — what would you say?

That’s a question worth thinking about, because knowing about Jesus and truly knowing Jesus are two very different things.

A nugget from the sermon today…

Jesus brings order out of chaos.

What a beautiful reminder that is for all of us. When there’s chaos, it’s difficult when you find yourself in the middle of it to envision order but, because of HIM, order is being restored and we are excited to experience the wonderful things that are on the horizon for our beautiful hill!

We’re thankful for our church family, thankful for Brett, thankful for Pastor Tony, and most of all, thankful for JESUS!

🍂 HELLO SEPTEMBER… AND HELLO, NEW CHURCH YEAR! 🍂

There’s just something exciting about a new beginning! As we launch into this new season, we’re thrilled to watch all the new ideas come to life in extraordinary ways! So many new things in the works 😊

A huge THANK YOU to our Nominating Committee, who spent many hours praying, working, and filling positions throughout our church for our new start! Every position matters, and each person who serves has an opportunity to help strengthen and enhance the ministry of RMBC.

Last Sunday, we were blessed to welcome Alex Plyler 👇 from Hamilton Cross Roads to our pulpit. If you weren’t here, you truly missed a blessing! But don’t worry—you can catch the service on our YouTube channel!

Alex shared some powerful truths that really stood out:

•If a church has love for Christ and love for each other, it will make it!

•The blood of Jesus brings people together.

• Bear with one another. Stand strong with each other. Encourage one another instead of gossiping. Pray for one another instead of criticizing or tearing each other down.

•WE ARE A TEAM! We are on the same team—GOD’S TEAM!

Those are some GOOD WORDS as we begin a new church year!

Let’s love each other. Pray for each other. Encourage each other. Serve together. And most importantly, keep our eyes on Jesus!
