For too long, scripture has been used as a weapon to divide, shame, or exclude. But in Community of Christ, we believe scripture’s true purpose is to point us toward love, justice, and the inherent worth of every person.

When we read sacred stories through the lens of compassion and equality, they become something new: a reminder that every person reflects the Divine. Using scripture responsibly means asking how it helps us build peace, restore dignity, and expand our understanding of God’s love.

May our interpretations always heal instead of harm, include instead of exclude, and uplift instead of diminish.
