As I work through some things today to be ready for Sunday, I pause and look at the American flag folded and placed in a display, and I remember my grandpa fighting in WWII. The same flag that was draped on his casket. As I look up on the top of the shelve I notice the bronze start he earned in Germany while fighting on the Rhine river. So, as Memorial Day approaches I'm reminded that all the petty whiny things we belly ache about are nothing compared to what someone who has served this country has gone through. While most people gripe about all the good they have, those who served are silent in their pain. Grandpa Charlie did not talk much about the war, and he took that with him to the grave. So this Memorial Day let's be thankful for all of those who gave everything, so we can enjoy this day. I pray that we are reminded that people need to be lifted up instead of stepped over. Let's be reminded that we are not any better than anyone else. It is my prayer that we focus on the good, instead of the negative. Before any of us say something negative about anyone, please remember you have no idea what that person might be going through. Remember we are all created by the God we come to worship this Sunday. Remember those who have gone on before us, and thank God for the influence they all had on us. See everyone Sunday! Love you all. Preacher Dave
