How am I to love 'em past the hate and let them know you love the hood

“But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” — 1 Timothy 5:8

This is one of the most direct and sobering warnings in all of Scripture.

God does not separate faith from responsibility. True faith is not just something we speak—it is something we live out daily, starting in our own homes.

To provide doesn’t just mean financially. It means being present. Leading with love. Protecting. Teaching truth. Standing firm in righteousness. Caring for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those God has entrusted to you.

A man (or woman) can say all the right words, attend church, and quote Scripture—but if they neglect their family, the Word of God says their actions deny their faith.

That should shake us.

In a world that encourages selfishness, abandonment, and moral compromise, God calls His people to a higher standard: faith that shows up at home first.

Your ministry begins in your household.

Your witness begins in your household.

Your obedience begins in your household.

Let this be a call to repentance where needed—and a call to action for every believer:

✔ Be present
✔ Be responsible
✔ Be faithful
✔ Lead with Christ at the center

Because how we care for our own is not a small matter to God—it is a reflection of whether we truly know Him.
