We’re looking forward to you coming out and joining us this Tuesday!

Celebrate Recovery at Plymouth Wesleyan Church!

We hope you can join us Tuesday for this exciting lesson on TURN.

Principle 3: "Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control,"
"Happy are the meek." Matthew 5:5

Step 3: We made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God.
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, only and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship."
Romans 12:1

The lesson uses the acrostic TURN to explain how to surrender control to Jesus Christ as your higher power:

T — Trust: Put your faith into action by believing God is faithful and wants the best for you.
U — Understand: Stop relying on your own limited understanding and accept God's perfect perspective.
R — Repent: Make a complete change of direction, turning away from sin and turning toward God's goodness.
N — New Life: Experience the freedom of being declared not guilty and transformed as a new creation in Christ.

While turning your life over to Christ is a one-time decision, turning your will over to Him is a choice you must make every single day.

🍂 SEPTEMBER IS A NEW SEASON 🍂

A new month doesn’t mean everything suddenly gets easier, but it can remind us that God is still working, we’re still growing, and our recovery story is still being written.

This September, let’s remember:

S — Surrender your past and step into God’s plan.
E — Embrace change and trust His timing.
P — Persevere through challenges with faith.
T — Thank God for every blessing, big and small.
E — Encourage others and build up the body of Christ.
M — Make time for prayer, worship, and His Word.
B — Believe God is working even when you can’t see it.
E — Extend grace to yourself and to others.
R — Rest in His promises and rejoice in your new life.

Recovery is not about having everything figured out. It’s about continuing to take the next right step with Jesus and your Forever Family beside you.

📖 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Whatever August looked like, September is another opportunity to keep moving forward.

🌱 One day at a time. One step closer to freedom.

🙌 We are Celebrate Recovery.
❤️ And recovery is better together.

We are having a Testimony by Deb Runge, a missionary to Haiti with a heart to bring Celebrate Recovery to those in desperate need of hope and healing. She currently serves as the International Rep for C.R. in Haiti, and before moving there 11 years ago, she was a C.R. Ministry Leader for 10 years and also served as the Wisconsin State Rep for a number of years. Deb will have a table set up for some beautiful Haitian art and jewelry that she brings as a way to support local families and fund their ministry work that will be available to buy.

You don’t have to have an addiction to need Celebrate Recovery.

Sometimes it’s the habits we’ve picked up along the way that are keeping us stuck.

Maybe you…

• Shut down when you’re hurt.
• Avoid difficult conversations.
• Need to be in control.
• Constantly seek approval from others.
• Hold grudges.
• Isolate when life gets hard.
• Use food, shopping, work, social media, or relationships to escape.
• Compare yourself to everyone around you.
• People-please because you’re afraid of disappointing others.
• Sabotage good things when they start getting too close.
• React in anger instead of dealing with what’s underneath it.
• Pretend everything is fine when it isn’t.

You may look at that list and think…

“Wait. I thought Celebrate Recovery was for people with addictions.”

It’s not.

Celebrate Recovery is for hurts, habits, and hang-ups… and most of us have something.

You don’t have to wait until your life falls apart to decide you want something different. 🧡

Come as you are. There’s a seat for you.

Is Celebrate Recovery for you?

Have you ever thought, “Celebrate Recovery isn’t for someone like me”?

Maybe you don’t struggle with drugs or alcohol. Maybe you don’t even know exactly what you’re struggling with… you just know something in your life needs healing.

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone dealing with a hurt, hang-up, or habit that is keeping them from living in the freedom God intended.

Maybe it’s…

• Anxiety or fear
• Anger or resentment
• Grief or loss
• Rejection or abandonment
• Codependency
• People-pleasing
• Control
• Unforgiveness
• Shame
• Relationship struggles
• Childhood wounds
• Food issues
• Addiction
• Or simply pain you’ve carried for far too long

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to walk through the doors of Celebrate Recovery.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

You don’t even have to know what to call what you’re struggling with.

You just have to be willing to take the first step.

So… is Celebrate Recovery for you?

If you have a hurt, hang-up, or habit…

YES. There’s a place for you here. ❤️

HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED. MATTHEW 5:4

STEP 2: WE CAME TO BELIEVE THAT POWER GREATER THAN OURSELVES COULD RESTORE US TO SANITY.
