“Just Light and Peace” One time a few years ago there was a lady sitting in the back of a class, very attentive but never said a thing for two days. Not a word. Then at the end of the final class, I asked if anyone had a question. This lady opened up and shared this with the class: “I’m a chemist,” she said, “and in the laboratory we use a powerful microscope to examine the inner structure of things. You are right, Paul. All we experience as we peer into the depths of any body or object is light and peace.” This chemist was open enough to Truth that she discerned not only the inner essence of “light” but also of “peace”. It touched me deeply. This is true of absolutely anything we wish to take a high-powered microscope to. We can take a human body or an organ or function, bone or blood – any point of any body of flesh, vegetable, mineral, any animate or so-called inanimate object like stone, plastic, metal, wood – and as we examine its essence, its very substance and form, its very fabric, we discover light and peace. It is as if the microscope is able to shine through or ignore the five objectified senses of the mind, revealing the truth of the fabric and substance of anything we care to examine.

When it is all finished, the measure of the Man in the glory will be put against us, and all will be determined by the measure of Christ we have allowed to posses us by His Grace. Christ is the verdict, Christ is the standard our legacy.
