"The Lord has given me the passion and gifts to teach young children. Whether my own or those of others in my congregation and community, I love serving Him and His children by means of education. The source and quality of the contents we build our minds, hearts, and souls with are foundational to educating ourselves and others.
'For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.' –Proverbs 2:6
Within the church my husband and I serve, we make use of the Sunday school curriculum produced by Ambassador Publications through the AFLC Parish Education department. For the past several years, I have been working directly with the preschool level of curriculum. I have appreciated the faithful stand upon the Word of God that our AFLC teaching content maintains throughout their library of resources.
Planning my lessons for the kids has been an enjoyable process. The teaching materials contain many activities, ideas, and crafts to choose from. Often I have the struggle with overplanning as there are more options for how to share the information than a typical Sunday school class time would allow. The review questions at the beginning of each lesson are great to use as a review game; my students began to look forward to this activity each week.
Our congregation has been using these resources for years, and we look forward to seeing how God guides and directs the development of further resources in the future. May God bless us as we seek to follow His will in the managing of the awesome resources He has given us to steward, namely, His children.
'Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.' –Proverbs 22:6"
