This will be the final post for our page--at least this page. Due to ongoing technical glitches, and a change in page administrators, the easiest way to handle things was to create a new page and delete the current one. It has been a pleasure and privilege to manage this page for the Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church for the past 18 months. I will leave the current page active until tomorrow morning, at which time, it will be deactivated. Please like, follow, share and invite friends to the new page, which can be found on Facebook under Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, Plymouth, PA. Have a blessed day, and remember there is always, always something to be grateful for! 💖

Greetings and Happy New Year, albeit a bit late. A wonderful quote for the new year follows from Aiden Wilson Tozer, an American Christian pastor, author and spiritual mentor: "Of all persons, the Christian should be best prepared for whatever the New Year brings. He has dealt with life at its source. In Christ, he has disposed of a thousand enemies that other men must face alone and unprepared. He can face tomorrow cheerful and unafraid because yesterday he turned his feet into the ways of peace and today he lives in God. The man who has made God his dwelling place will always have a safe habitation." A very happy, healthy, and blessed 2023 from all of us at Good Shepherd, to all of you, your families and your friends.

"And the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David. And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." (~Luke 1:30-32)

Please join us for Holy Mass as we celebrate Jesus's birth on Christmas Eve at Midnight. Christmas carols begin at 11:45PM. Our church is located at 269 East Main St., Plymouth, PA. We wish you and yours a very blessed, safe, and happy Christmas season!

"A voice of one calling: 'In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.'" (-Isaiah 40:3-5)

With the end of the liturgical year, and a new one having begun today, we reflect on these past few crazy busy, but blessed weeks in our parish, and look forward with to the season of Advent, which began today and ushers in a season of contemplation, and also great joy!✨️✝️ Our Matthew 25:40 project for 2022, culminated with a collection for animals in need in honor of St. Francis in October. We delivered a car trunk full of towels, cleaning supplies, dog and cat food, treats, and toys, which we shared between the Luzerne County SPCA and Blue Chip Animal Farm Refuge. 🐕🐈‍⬛🐾 We also closed out the Church year with three wildly successful pierogi projects! 🥟🥟🥟🍽We want everyone to know that NONE of this would have been possible without the selfless sharing and generous donations on the part of all involved, both members of our parish, and non members. Thank you for all you do! And remember: "Each day brings new opportunities, allowing you to constantly live with love--be there for others--bring a little light into someone's day. Be grateful and live each day to the fullest." (~Roy T. Bennett)

"On this Veteran's Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free." (~Dan Lipinski)

We have received some very generous and always needed donations for our 2nd Community Outreach project to benefit the Luzerne County SPCA and Blue Chip Animal Rescue. We will be extending the collection until Sunday, November 6. We can still use new or gently used towels, new or gently used FLAT sheets, bleach, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, cat and dog treats, and Fancy Feast canned kitten food. Every item helps both of these organizations who care every day for untold numbers of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters....you name the animal, and they've probably taken care of it! So please, even if you're just cleaning out your linen closet, or running into a store for a few things, remember all the pets who need our help, and drop your items off Sunday, October 30 or Sunday November 6th. On behalf of some of God's most innocent creatures, thank you so very much for any help you can provide! 💖🐕🐈‍⬛🐎🐁🐇🐓🐢🐾
