A question from a child that you cannot answer.
Children live much closer to awe than most of us.
They haven't learned yet to walk past the ordinary without stopping.
Today's invitation: see something the way a child would. Without explanation. Without hurry. What do you see?

O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Almighty God, who hast promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in thy Son's Name: We beseech thee mercifully to incline thine ear to us who have now made our prayers and supplications unto thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to thy will, may effectually be obtained, to the relief of our necessity, and to the setting forth of thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

"Holy ground is everywhere. We just need to take off our shoes." ✨
On the last Sunday of Sunday School, Ms. Paula and Ms. Sue invited the kids to build a Bible Alphabet together — from memory, from their hearts, from the whole year of learning.
A is for Amen. B is for Believe. C is for Christ, Christmas, Creation, Cross…
…and Pastor Chris. 🥹

That's the summer of awe right there. Not just in sunsets and mountain views — but in a room full of children who absorbed a whole alphabet of faith and gave it back in the most beautiful way.

Thank you, Ms. Paula and Ms. Sue, for making holy ground out of every Sunday morning.

Ten days in. How's your awe practice going? Remember: you don't have to go to Ireland to find it. Awe lives in the first sip of good coffee. In a child figuring something out. In a thunderstorm. In your own backyard. Drop your week's best wow in the comments.
