Have you wanted to go serve internationally but don't know where to start? Consider being a Missionary Assistant with Journey Missions!

Whether you want to serve for 2 months or a year, the Missionary Assistant Program is a great opportunity to serve a ministry, live cross-culturally, and get mentored by a missionary. Not only that but our missionaries ask for people to come and serve alongside them, to help assist them in their ministry. We want you to go, serve, and live for Christ and we ask that if you are feeling the Lord direct you to missions keep praying about this opportunity.

March Newsletter!

Hear from Jill Toms, who recently went to Brazil with her two kids, about her heart for missions especially for her kids.

“Mission trips are not about having all the answers—short-term teams come as learners, not experts. Even in preparation, they can begin to understand the importance of listening well, serving faithfully, and supporting long-term missionaries who have committed their lives to the work God has called them to do. This mindset fosters humility and a healthy understanding of partnership within the body of Christ.”

Oaxaca, Mexico 2026

We were so thankful for the opportunity to go and serve as Casa Hogar in Oaxaca, Mexico. From painting walls to teaching in classrooms, the team loved building relationships and serving in whatever ways they could. Bella Benson shares about how God was working in her life during the trip:

“In my opinion, 8 days to experience Mexico and Casa Hogar was not nearly enough. We got the opportunity to see how daily life plays out for the kids there. Getting to be with the children and to see their love changed my perspective in how I live for God. Never have I seen such beautiful childlike faith and love poured out day after day. Their smiles and seeing them run towards us, will always always my favorite part of the trip. Getting to show them the love of God and to have my heart so full was such a blessing!”

The Cross-Cultural Class is hard at work in Oaxaca, Mexico!

We’re over halfway through the trip and it has been such a JOY to serve at Casa Hogar. Through the time here the team has served by painting, work projects, organizing, teaching english and art classes, VBS, and using all the free time to play with kids! Levi Renn shares his experience:

“The culture and language of Oaxaca has gotten me out of my comfort zone and forced me to rely on the Lord. I have enjoyed playing with the children at Casa Hogar and immersing myself in mexican culture through language and lifestyle. Going back i want to embrace the uncomfortable by boldly proclaiming Christ.”

Thank you all for your prayers! We can’t wait to see what God will do through the rest of our trip. Keep following along on stories to see what we’re doing everyday!

BRAZIL 2026

What a trip! We are so thankful for the opportunity this team had to go to Brazil! Miciah Renn shares a story while she was there:

“Brazil was a blessing to my walk with JESUS and my love for others. GOD especially increased my desire to host and serve others the way the Brazilian believers welcomed and served me. One woman in particular touched my heart with her hospitality. I asked where the shower house was one afternoon during a week of camp in Campo Mourão (this was during our final week in Brazil), and she walked me to her room and let me use her personal shower. She offered her shower shoes, shampoo, conditioner, and soap; then she offered her bed for me to sleep in after if I needed to rest. She had an extra bed in her room and said that if I wanted to stay there that night, I could. Wow, she went above and beyond, and I realized I have a lot to learn from her as it comes to hospitality and humility. Go check out Philippians 1:1-4:23 for an attitude adjustment!”
