🇲🇼 A Malawi Recap | The Past Few Days
The past few days have been full of meaningful conversations, inspiring ministries, and countless reminders of the hope God is bringing to communities across Malawi.
On Tuesday, Pastor Ian and Paul visited Y-Malawi's vocational training center and one of its family support programs, seeing firsthand how practical skills, encouragement, and the love of Christ are helping families build brighter futures. They also spent time with the God Change Me Women's Group; the talented women who knit and crochet the beautiful handcrafted items we'll be sharing with our congregation this fall. It was a joy to meet the women behind the craftsmanship and hear more of their stories.
On Wednesday, they visited two literacy programs that are transforming lives.
📖 The first serves primarily women, many of whom had little or no formal education. Learning to read, write, and count is opening new doors for them, their families, and their futures.
📚 The second, Reading First, welcomed more than 150 children packed into a small classroom, eagerly learning to read and write in both Chichewa and English. These skills provide access to higher education and create opportunities that can change the course of a child's life, especially for young girls.
Along the way, Ian and Paul shared some of the gifts our church brought with them, including Dum Dums, toothbrushes, and toy balls, small acts of kindness that brought plenty of smiles.
Today they visited Y-Malawi's medical ministries, and we'll continue sharing updates as they come in.
