Today, during Catholic Schools Week, we celebrate our students! We have so many outstanding Spartans that deserve recognition for their amazing accomplishments. Be on the lookout for our new Spartan Spotlight feature, where we share stories about our phenomenal students!

The first Spartan Spotlight is Senior, Alex DeStefano! In November, he won the NJ Music Teachers Association's 2021 Young Musicians Competition. He competed at the collegiate level and won for the entire state!

Most recently, Alex was chosen as one of 3 finalists in the 13th Annual NJ Young Composers Competition, with his piece titled “No Longer, Not Yet.” Alex will continue on to the finals which will take place in Atlantic City on February 26th.

Please join us in congratulating Alex on this outstanding achievement and help wish him luck in the finals! 💙🎹💛

Holy Week 2021

This year’s Holy Week was also different for me. Even though, we are still in the midst of a Pandemic, the experience of this Holy Week is very different from last year’s. You see, Epiphany Lutheran Church was selected to be a vaccination center for the city of Pleasantville - during Holy Week!

What a blessing for our community, a community where Latino and Black persons struggle together daily to survive.

But, during Holy Week? God has a way to putting us “upside down.” What a blessing this Holy Week has come to be for the imperfect eyes of this Pastor in this community.

Faces. Fear. Conversation. Welcoming. Hope. Gratitude. Resurrection. All of these happened at once. Providing a new reflection of what this year’s Holy Week means to me.

I saw the Resurrected one! On every face that I encountered during this Holy Week I saw a glimpse of God’s Kingdom in breaking in our midst. God brought me “upside down” again and I am blessed.

I am looking forward for the “second encounter” with the community as they will return for their final dosage of the vaccine. I am looking forward to: Faces. Fear. Conversation. Welcoming. Hope. Gratitude. Resurrection. What a joy! What a banquet!

Yes, this year’s Holy Week has been “Sacramental” as we came together, as we are “equally different,” and shared a meal made out of Welcoming, Hope and Love.

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen indeed!
Alleluia, amen!

Semana Santa 2021

¡He visto al Resucitado!

¡Aleluya! ¡Cristo ha resucitado!
¡El Señor verdaderamente ha resucitado!
¡Aleluya, amén!
