Revival has been good.
These past few days the Lord has watered the ground with a steady rain. First night of revival started after a good Sunday morning service, dinner on the grounds and good fellowship. The Lord preaching the evangelist each night, seemingly good liberty to preach and a needful message each night as if Taylor made for those in attendance.
Night 2, one stood before the church and as tears flowed down his cheeks, recounted his experience where a few months ago, calling on the Lord, the Lord saved him and granted that peace that is familiar. The Spirit bore witness as he spoke and our hearts remembered the night the Lord spread His peace in our own hearts. The church voted their pleasure to receive this new brother as a candidate for baptism to be administered this Sunday afternoon.
Nights 3 and 4, again the Lord helped the preacher and delivered messages accompanied by the spirit, feeding the flock.
Night 5, the rain began, the Lord impressed our pastor to take the stand. Our widow, in attendance, though admittedly glad to be present her countenance betrayed her sorrow over the loss of her companion brother Paul.
Our pastor called her forward, and to the hymn God Can Do Anything But Fail, the church members in turn embraced her and loved on her a little to try and encourage her. Then the pastor read from 1 Corinthians and watered the Word that had been preached. Short and sweet he said, a calm and peaceful atmosphere as we dismissed the service.
Night 6 another good message. At the close, a new brother visiting from a sister church was called on to pray the dismissal prayer. Again the spirit bore witness as he thanked God for the service and then for the time and place where the Lord had saved him.
Night 7, about to begin.
Thankful for the revival thus far, but expecting more from the Lord.
