Good Morning Mt. Calvary & Friends:
The Scriptures today, Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Where do we find salvation? Salvation starts with God. God is righteous and we are not. Therein is the problem. We are all a sinner and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:29). But then, God’s grace provided salvation. Grace means that God ‘freely gives’ us salvation even though we ‘did not deserve it.’ “Salvation is the gift of God.” You cannot earn it, buy it, or go anywhere else to get it. “Salvation only comes by God’s grace.”
How does God provide? God purchased our salvation with the life of His only begotten Son. God loves us, gave His Son Jesus to die for us, and there by providing salvation for us. It is the gospel—the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the only way of salvation.
What is salvation? Salvation is through faith. We must believe it, and that is not just a head knowledge belief as in believing some historical fact. It is a belief that takes over our whole life. It is the faith that produces faithfulness. When you are saved through faith, you (we) are a new creation in Jesus Christ, born again with the Spirit of God indwelling us. Everything about us has changed and now our greatest desire is to please God.
If you are not saved, I plead with you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). Once we are saved, we have the hope [assurance] of eternal life with Christ in heaven forever. God was thinking of us before He created the world, for He provided His “plan of salvation” for us before Creation (Eph. 1:3-5). We can’t comprehend how much God truly loves us.
Hope you have a Blessed day and give Him all the glory. JM
