This Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who laid down their lives in service to our nation. We honor men and women who never made it home, families who carry empty seats at the table, and generations shaped by sacrifice most of us can scarcely comprehend.

As Christians, Memorial Day also reminds us that freedom is costly. Jesus Himself said, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). While no earthly sacrifice compares to the cross of Christ, days like today remind us that love, duty, courage, and service often come with great cost.

Today, let us pray for grieving families, for veterans, for those currently serving, for first responders, and for our nation. May God grant us humility, gratitude, wisdom, repentance where needed, and hearts that steward freedom responsibly.

Lord, comfort the brokenhearted, strengthen those who serve, and turn our hearts toward justice, mercy, truth, and peace. And above all, remind us that our ultimate hope is not in earthly kingdoms, but in the eternal Kingdom of Christ that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28).

At 9:00 AM, join us for Book Club at Del Rey Church as we dig into Redemption Accomplished and Applied by John Murray. From Psalm 2 to Psalm 22, from Psalm 16 to Psalm 110, we’ll see that the resurrection wasn’t a surprise—it was promised, accomplished, and now changes everything about how we live.

Sign up for an exciting adult ed class I am teaching through the first eleven chapters of the Book of Revelation for the Los Angeles Bible Training School's extension campus in Inglewood. The class is formatted for adult learners with busy schedules, so we meet once a month on Friday evening and Saturday (half-day). You take the class an auditor or enroll to be a student in the Biblical Studies certificate program. Either way (audit or formal student), I hope to see you sign-up for this timely and important course digging into biblical prophecy.
