ike holiness (Col. 1:28-29). Here at Grace Bible Church Plantation we believe that the local church exists as a visible manifestation and expression of Christ’s invisible body on the earth. The ultimate purpose of the church is to glorify God (1 Cor. 10:31; Eph. 3:21; Col. 3:17) and the fourfold means by which we do that is: (1) by exalting God in Worship (Jn. 4:23-24; Rom. 12:1ff; Heb. 13:15), (2) by expositing the Scriptures (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-4:2; 1 Pet. 4:11), (3) by equipping the saints and edifying one another (Eph. 4:11-16; Heb. 3:12-14; 10:24-25) through the faithful preaching and teaching of God’s Word (2 Tim. 3:16-4:2), the cultivation and training of church leaders (Acts 14:23; 2 Tim. 2:2), and the mutual employment of each member’s spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:3-8; 15:14; 1 Cor. 12:7; 1 Pet. 4:10-11), and (4) by evangelizing the world (Mt. 28:18-20; 2 Cor. 5:17-21) with the end goal of making disciples through the planting and establishing of God-centered, Christ-exalting, Spirit-empowered, Bible-expositing, indigenous local churches among all the peoples of the earth (Acts 14:21-23; Rom. 15:14-29). And so as the church we gather for worship, equipping and edifying and we scatter for evangelism! We are shepherded by our pastor Matt Stanchek. Matt grew up in New Jersey, graduated from Boston College in 1996 and then moved to south Florida to pursue a professional golf career (1996-2000), but the Lord had better plans and sometime around 2000 the Lord graciously saved Matt from his sin and from the eternal wrath of God, robing him in the righteousness of Jesus Christ and consecrating him unto holiness and the ministry of the gospel! Matt is married to Melissa Stanchek and they have three children (Hosea, Hannah, and Judson). Matt received his Masters of Divinity from The Expositor’s Seminary in 2011 and was ordained to the ministry of the gospel by Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, Florida on May 20, 2012. Matt was named senior pastor of Grace Bible Church Plantation (formerly known as Westgate Baptist Church) on April 15, 2012 and assumed full-time duties on June 1, 2012. Matt has a passion for expository preaching (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2), leadership training (2 Tim. 2:2), discipleship (Mt. 28:19), biblical counseling (Acts 20:31; Rom. 15:14), faithful shepherding (1 Pet. 5:1-4), evangelism (2 Tim. 4:5) and church planting (Mt. 28:18-20; Rom. 15:18-24).
