Jesus never designed the church to be a crowd of people who walk through life alone.

In Acts 11, ordinary believers carried the gospel through everyday conversations. They were not all "preachers".... but they were all "talkers." The kingdom grows when people stop watching ministry and start carrying ministry.

Then Barnabas shows us what discipleship looks like. He comes alongside people, encourages them to stay close to Jesus, and eventually brings Saul into the work because he knows the mission is too big for one leader.

Healthy discipleship is simple:
- Show up.
- Teach truth.
- Build relationships.
- Stay long enough to see growth.

Then Acts 12 gives us another picture of the church. Peter is in prison. Herod surrounds him with soldiers. The church surrounds him with prayer.

Everyone needs people who know their name when they are in prison.

Maybe not a literal prison, but seasons of grief, marriage struggles, confusion, celebration, temptation, big decisions, or simply trying to follow Jesus faithfully.

The crowd can know your face. Community knows your story.

This Sunday, we continued our Summer of Fire series with Acts 11b-12a: “No One Walks Alone.”

As you watch this, ask yourself: Who am I intentionally walking with, and who have I allowed to walk closely enough with me to know when I need prayer, encouragement, correction, or help?

You can attend church in a crowd and still walk through life alone. Jesus never intended that for His church.

So join a Faith Group. Host one. Lead one.
Because nobody should have to walk alone.

This Sunday...
Kids discovered that God wants us to live a holy life. To do this, we must be willing to let go of the sin and behavior that holds us back. When we do this, we not only honor God but also can experience a life closer to the way God intended.

There’s something special happening at Faith Assembly.

From the sanctuary to Faith Kids, from worship and the Word to conversations in the hallway, we’re becoming a church where people don’t have to walk with alone as we all learn to walk with Jesus.

•We worship together.
•We grow together.
•We serve together.
•And we make room for the Holy Spirit to lead us.

This is Faith Assembly. This is FAmily.

Sometimes spiritual maturity looks like getting out of God’s way.

In Acts 11, Peter is literally criticized by fellow believers simply because he ate a meal with Gentiles.

Of course, the issue was bigger than dinner. It was about acceptance, relationship, and belonging.

The gospel was forcing the early church to confront a difficult reality: God was welcoming people they had been taught to keep at a distance.

Peter’s conclusion was simple: “Who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”

That question still confronts us.

Our job is not to make God agree with us.

Our job is to recognize what Heaven is doing, get in agreement with Him, and participate in it.

Peter once needed courage to stand against people who opposed God’s work.

Now he needed humility to make sure he did not become the one opposing it.

This Sunday, we continued our Summer of Fire series with Acts 11: “Move, Get Out The Way.”

As you watch this, ask yourself: Where might my preferences, fears, assumptions, or prejudices be causing me to resist something God is trying to do?

Am I allowing Jesus to redefine me, challenge me, expand my circle, use what He placed in my hands, and send me beyond my comfort?

Because spiritual maturity requires enough humility to recognize what God is doing and move with Him.

Faith Kids is about more than giving children something to do while adults are in church.

We believe some of the most important discipleship happening at Faith Assembly takes place in rooms filled with crayons, Bible stories, questions, laughter, worship, prayer, and adults who genuinely care about the next generation.

Our goal isn’t simply for kids to grow up knowing about Jesus.

We want them to know Jesus, hear His voice, understand His Word, experience His presence, and learn what it means to follow Him for themselves.

The children sitting in Faith Kids today will become the teenagers, parents, leaders, missionaries, pastors, teachers, business owners, and difference makers of tomorrow.

That’s why we refuse to treat kids ministry like childcare. And why we refuse to act like they have some sort of limited access to the Holy Spirit. “THERE IS NO JUNIOR HOLY SPIRIT!”

We are discipling another generation of world changers.

We’re also grateful for every Faith Kids leader who gives their time, energy, prayers, and love to help make that possible.

If you’re looking for a church where your entire family can grow in their relationship with Jesus, we’d love to have you join us at Faith Assembly.

Your kids aren’t just invited. They matter here.

The Gospel has to move from something we believe to something we carry.

Theologically reaching people eventually requires you to geographically step into their world.
