We opened in 1909 to welcome all residents and visitors to the beautiful Christian church in Plant City, Florida. Mary’s was founded in 1909 under the leadership of Rev. Taylor. This small membership of sixteen worshiped and praised God in a small wooden church. This was the beginning of a ministry that would endure many obstacles as it continues to strive to make a difference in its community and
the lives of many. The St. Mary’s Community Church is just as its name implies, a community church where all are welcome no matter their age, gender, race or status in life. It is a church where you can feel comfortable serving and praising God to the fullest. Through the years, St. Mary’s has been known for having a powerful praise and worship ministry, this is still true today. When it comes to singing, shouting, hearing the word,and praising God, St. Mary’s is the place to be. Mary’s Community Church is very proud of its heritage. Once known as St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church, it has evolved to the Great ministry now known as St. Mary’s Community Church Inc. Mary’s is also very proud of the ministries that were birthed out of her, Faith Temple Primitive Baptist Church and By Faith Ministries. These ministries continue Kingdom building and for this we give God praise. Mary’s Community Church continues to work in the vineyard of the Lord and serving our community by teaching and preaching God’s word, offering praises to God, tutoring both adults and children at no charge, serving hot meals to the homeless and less fortunate twice a week, supplying can goods, non perishables and providing fresh clean clothing to those in need. Mary’s Community Church continues to strive to make a difference, we are lead by our Pastor of over thirty years, Timothy S. Knighten Sr. and his wife Pamela. They teach us that love conquers all and that nothing is impossible in God. Tested and tried, battled and scarred but we are still here and better for our trials. “We Love Praising Him”.
