Anshai Torah Men's Club

Official online presence for the Men's Club (brotherhood) of Congregation Anshai Torah in Plano, Texas Many of our meetings also include short programs.

Anshai Torah Men's Club is an auxiliary organization of the synagogue whose objective is to provide opportunities for social interaction for its members. We seek to involve our members in fun and fulfilling activities that will benefit the synagogue and be of service to the community. We have monthly meetings in the synagogue, usually on the third Sunday of the month. Watch the synagogue announcem

We serve bagels, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee, and, while we nosh, we have a short business meeting where we discuss upcoming events and new activity ideas. This year's 2026 World Wide Wrap will be held on Sunday morning (2/8/26) at Congregation Shearith Israel. (9401 Douglas Avenue, Dallas 75225). The Wrap is an annual joint Men's Club event between Anshai Torah, Shearith and Congregation Beth Torah.)

Minyan begins at 9:00am, followed by a brunch (and mimosa/bloody mary bar), with special guest speaker Jared Sandler. Mr. Sandler is the play-by-play Texas Rangers broadcaster and pre/post-game host on 105.3 FM.

In the Conservative movement, Jews of any gender may wear tefillin. Whether you are a novice or an expert at putting on tefillin, the Wrap is a wonderful way for us to connect with each other as a Jewish community.

All are welcome, and spare sets of tefillin are available if you don’t own one. Men's Club members will also be available to help wrap.

Men's Club Youth Scholarship, Now Accepting Applications

Application Period: November 1 - December 1, 2024

Each year, Congregation Anshai Torah Men’s Club offers youth scholarships for summer camps, day camps, classes, mission trips, and youth group conventions. This year’s application period will be November 1st through December 1st.

This application period is the only time one can apply for this scholarship, for youth activities taking place during the rest of this year, and for summer 2025. Any person who will be age 17 or younger on June 1, 2025, or any senior in high school for the 2024 / 2025 school year, who is the child of a current member of Congregation Anshai Torah, is eligible.

Applicants will need to show that their child plans to attend a camp, program, mission or trip activity that has a distinctly Jewish character, taking place between November 1, 2024 and October 31, 2025. Activities can include, but are not limited to: Jewish day camps, overnight camps, field trips, educational experiences, Hebrew study, Jewish youth group conferences, trips or missions. Please don’t wait to apply. Applications will only be accepted through December 1, and all families will be notified of their application and scholarship grant award status by December 31.

✡️🥳🙌 Mazal tov to this week’s bar mitzvah, Ben Tobias Krasner, the son of Robin Plotkin and Loren Krasner. A seventh-grader at Parkhill Jr. High School, Ben plays on the Raiders basketball and football teams as well as on the Texas Warriors travel hockey team.

Ben enjoys listening to music, spending time with friends, family, and whichever of the many foster dogs is in residence at the Krasner home. Ben’s mitzvah projects were to deliver Meals on Wheels, through Visiting Nurses Association, to homebound seniors in Richardson and to host a senior gift-wrapping party putting together gifts for seniors to be given out this holiday season.

Mazal tov to this week’s bnai mitzvot - to Zachary Harris Post who will be called to the Torah Saturday morning and Gabriela Fletcher who will shine Saturday evening.

💙🙌 Zach is the son of Nicole and Jay Post, and big brother of Andrew. A seventh-grader at Parish Episcopal School, he is a member of the middle school football team and his love for sports extends to his participation on a club lacrosse team. Zach enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and his goldendoodle Charlie.
Taking his love of sports to the community, Zach helped coach children living with special needs on the basketball, baseball and football sports courts and fields of the Miracle League of Frisco.

❤️🙌 Gabriela is the daughter of Nathalie and Mike and the younger sister of Debra. An eighth grader at Renner Middle School, where she is an excellent student and dedicated to the school’s acapella choir - outside of school she enjoys the creative outlets of her dance and voice lessons, reading, cooking and this Marvel fan loves playing with her dog Dunkin.
For the last two years, Gabriela has dedicated her time and efforts to support the National Charity League through which she has delivered food baskets throughout Dallas’ Jewish community. She is passionate about singing, dancing, reading, and cooking.
