The I AM a Storyteller Global Foundation is a non-profit corporation that exists to perform charitable, religious, and educational services to ordained or consecrated Christian Ministers and Ministry workers. It is hoped that through the assistance of "I AM a Storyteller", Christian ministers and workers in need can regain the ability to tell the redemptive stories of Jesus Christ.

I AM a Storyteller Foundation History

Throughout the Bible, we see several broken characters that were called by God to do His work. Most of them weren’t ready, equipped or qualified for the position in which the Lord had called them to. But they all had a few things in common-they made themselves available, responded to the call and acted upon it.

The story of how I Am A Storyteller began was no exception.

Our Senior Pastor at Biblical Community Church (BCC), Pastor Russell “Butch” Diwa, was diagnosed with cystic ameloblastoma, a benign tumor growing in his lower jaw in 2009. Multiple surgeries had to be performed on his jaw. Because of this, he was unable to eat solid foods and speak articulately for several months. Being the pastor of a continuously growing church, and his ability to speak and preach the word of God being a vital part of his ministry, Pastor Diwa remained faithful to what the Lord had planned for him. The financial aspect of multiple surgeries became a burden, but his trust in the Lord’s unwavering provision held its solid ground.

The members of BCC stood up as a community during this time and provided a lot of love and support. While they were able to raise some funds to assist Pastor Diwa, they were still in need of much more.

On March 7, 2014, Ronnie and his family, who are members at the Biblical Community Church, were driving to Florida to visit their son. During the drive, Ronnie’s heart was burdened by Pastor Diwa’s testimony from his recent visit with him. He shared with his wife Victoria how he brought Pastor Diwa a gallon of Braum’s ice cream, knowing that it would bring him some comfort. He expressed a heavy burden in his heart and that there can be something more to be done to help Pastor Diwa financially. Ronnie and Victoria’s conversation started with selling T-shirts to raise funds for Pastor Diwa and ended with a call from the Lord to start a foundation that is much bigger than their initial intended purpose. The vision became clear, the Lord placed in their hearts that this foundation can also be used as a tool to tell the world that there is hope and redemption through Christ The Savior.

While Ronnie has the community service orientation and Victoria has the artistic side, together, the ideas were executed. They shared their vision for the foundation with Reham Choudhury and Max Roycroft. Just like the Reyes family, they both answered the call and acted upon it. Reham’s networking experience was used by the Lord allowing them to expand their ideas outside of the local church. Additionally, Max’s skills with technology allowed them to put their vision in social media and a month later, on April 4, 2014, The I am A Storyteller Foundation was formally launched. It takes off towards the direction the Lord is leading them to. It may seem they had the talent, abilities and experiences to get the foundation started, but they kept their supply of the main source rooted in and is Christ-centered.

The I Am A Storyteller is a foundation operating on faith in Christ Jesus with the team, may be imperfect but faithful to the Lord, takes no merit in the glory that belongs to Him alone. They are humbled in the role that they play as co-founders for the furtherance of His kingdom and continue to be used as a vessel of telling God’s redemptive story through His son Jesus Christ.
