Jesus doesn't call us to obedience so we can earn His love. He calls us to obedience because we are already loved by Him. When we walk in His ways, we experience the fullness of that love and the joy that comes from living close to Him.

In a world that encourages us to follow our own path, Jesus invites us to follow His. His commands are not burdensome—they are life-giving. They lead us into deeper relationship with Him and help us reflect His love to those around us.

Today, take a moment to ask: What is one area of my life where I can trust and obey Jesus more fully?

As we remain in Him, we discover that His love is steadfast, His grace is sufficient, and His joy is complete.

Why does John include the story of Jesus turning water into wine?

In John 2:1-11, Jesus performs His first recorded miracle at a wedding in Cana. At first glance, it may seem like a simple act of kindness, but John tells us this miracle had a much deeper purpose.

John calls miracles "signs" because they point to something greater. By turning water into wine, Jesus revealed His glory and showed that He is more than a teacher or prophet—He is the Son of God. This sign demonstrated His power over creation and marked the beginning of His public ministry.

The miracle also symbolizes the abundant joy and new life Jesus brings. The water jars used for ceremonial cleansing represented the old covenant, while the overflowing wine pointed to the new covenant and the grace that would come through Christ.

John includes this story so that we might believe in Jesus and trust Him with every area of our lives. The same Savior who transformed water into wine is still able to transform hearts today.

When Moses stood before the burning bush, he wondered how he could possibly accomplish what God was calling him to do. God's answer wasn't a detailed plan—it was His presence.

"I AM."

Not "I was." Not "I will be." God is the eternal, unchanging One. The same God who spoke to Moses is the same God who walks with us today. When we face uncertainty, fear, or challenges beyond our strength, we can rest in the confidence that the Great I AM is with us.

Whatever you're facing today, remember: God's power is not dependent on your ability. His presence is enough.

What an incredible evening celebrating the people who make ministry happen at Willow Bend Church!

Our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was a special time to gather, share a meal, laugh together, and express our gratitude for the countless hours our volunteers invest in serving others and advancing God's Kingdom.

Whether you greet at the door, teach children, serve behind the scenes, lead a group, run tech, or help in countless other ways, your faithfulness makes a difference every week. We are truly blessed by each of you!

Even when answers are slow and circumstances don’t make sense, God hasn’t stopped being holy, powerful, or present. His character doesn’t change with our situation. What feels hidden to us is still fully known to Him.

If today feels uncertain, remember this: the same God who parted seas, provided in the wilderness, and carried His people through impossible moments is still working now—even when we can’t see it yet.

There are seasons when life feels like deep water. Problems pile up, stress rises, and it seems like we’re losing our footing. Psalm 69 reminds us that God invites us to bring those moments honestly before Him.

David didn’t hide his struggles—he cried out to the Lord. And that’s a reminder for us today: when the waters feel deep, God is still near. When we can’t find solid ground, He remains our firm foundation.

No matter what you’re facing today, don’t stop calling on Him. The God who hears our cries is the same God who rescues, sustains, and gives hope.

One of the most encouraging truths in Scripture is that God hears us. Not just our polished prayers, but our desperate cries, our questions, our fears, and our burdens.

The psalmist didn’t hide his struggles—he brought them directly to God. When life feels overwhelming, we don’t have to carry it alone. We can cry out to the One who listens, cares, and remains faithful.

No matter what you’re facing today, God is not distant. He hears every prayer and every cry from His children.
