Sometimes God calls us to a season of waiting. While waiting isn’t always easy, we can find peace, encouragement, and strength through prayer and trusting His timing. ❤️

Ladies, join us tomorrow, October 24th, from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM in Room 104 for a special time of fellowship, worship, prayer, and encouragement.

Sin doesn’t always begin with our actions. Sometimes, it begins in our hearts.

In Matthew 5:21–22, Jesus reminds us that anger, bitterness, and contempt toward others are serious matters in God’s eyes.

We may never physically harm someone, but our words and attitudes can still cause damage.

Jesus isn’t just concerned with what we do. He’s concerned with the condition of our hearts.

What anger or bitterness might God be calling you to surrender today?

Understanding Scripture means looking beyond a single verse. Historical, cultural, literary, and canonical context all help us better understand what God is teaching us.

The more we understand the context, the deeper our understanding of His Word becomes!

Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:29–30 may seem extreme, but His message is clear: sin is serious, and we should be willing to take serious steps to remove it from our lives.

Jesus isn’t calling us to physically harm ourselves. He’s challenging us to recognize anything that pulls us away from God and be willing to let it go, even when it’s difficult.

Sometimes following Jesus means walking away from habits, influences, or temptations we’ve grown comfortable with.

The question isn’t how close we can get to sin without crossing the line. It’s how willing we are to remove what stands between us and God.

Yesterday, we talked about why Jesus sometimes told people NOT to share what He had done. But there’s more to the story.

In Mark 8:30, after Peter recognized Jesus as the Christ, Jesus gave another surprising instruction:

Yesterday, we saw Jesus telling people to remain silent about His miracles. Today, we see Him telling His disciples to remain silent about His identity.

Why? Because Jesus wanted people to understand not just what He could do, but who He truly was and why He came.

His mission wasn’t about popularity, miracles, or earthly recognition. It was about the cross, the resurrection, and salvation.

Here’s the question for us: Are we more focused on what Jesus can do for us, or on truly knowing and following Him?
