ROOTED TO RISE | Day 2: Releasing Around the Fire

Now, this is Texas… and by Friday evening, the weather had reminded us of that! The temperature had changed drastically from the day before, but we gathered around the fire for worship, surrender, and sisterhood.

One of our worship songs, “How Great Is Our God,” spoke to our hearts—a reminder of who we were trusting as we released our cares. Our God is great, and we can place what weighs on us into His hands.

Lady Toyin Martin shared why we were there: to release our cares and entrust them to God.

We placed those cares into a prayer box—the burdens, worries, and things we were ready to let go. The box was then placed into the fire as a symbol of surrender.

Only God knows everything represented in that box. We didn’t have to explain it all to one another. He knew. What a powerful moment to stand together as sisters and trust Him with what comes next.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

Afterward, we lingered for sweet and savory treats! Marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers made for fireside s’mores, while salami, assorted crackers, and Babybel cheeses—with a little hot honey—offered something savory.

A chilly evening, a warm fire, heartfelt worship, and sweet fellowship. A beautiful memory from our Rooted to Rise weekend.

ROOTED TO RISE | Day 2: Rooted + Rising

With a heart for women to grow deeper in God and stronger together, Lady Toyin Martin, hosted and facilitated a meaningful panel discussion during Sanctuary Church DFW’s Women’s Weekend.

Her thoughtful questions and warm leadership made room for honest conversation about prayer, perseverance, and staying rooted in God through life’s difficult seasons.

We are grateful for Lady Toyin’s care and leadership, and for each panelist who helped make this session such a meaningful part of our weekend.

ROOTED TO RISE | Day 2: Morning Prayer at the Cross

Early Friday morning, we gathered at the cross to begin our day in prayer. With the lake before us and the morning sky reminding us of God’s beautiful creation, we paused to thank Him and prepare our hearts for what He had in store.

Thursday brought us together. Friday morning, we turned our hearts toward growing deeper in Him.

ROOTED TO RISE | Thursday Evening: Cozy Conversations, Connection & Creativity

After check-in and dinner, "Not Just On Sundays" made our round table chatter real talk!

What began with a few prompt questions opened into heartfelt sharing. We got to know one another beyond the usual greetings, making room to listen, laugh, and share more personally in a space of trust and sisterhood.

From there, we transitioned into our “Planted in Purpose Art Studio,” painting pots in preparation for our Saturday planting ceremony. Each woman added her own creative touch to the pot that would hold her plant.

Conversation opened the door, and creativity gave us more time to connect as we prepared our hearts for Friday’s full day of prayer, teaching, worship, and renewal.

What a beautiful way to begin our weekend together!

ROOTED TO RISE | Thursday Morning: Setting the Scene

After a year of planning and praying, it was time to bring it all together!

Thursday morning was all about setup—filling gift bags, preparing rooms, decorating tables, and adding those special touches to welcome our sisters to Sanctuary Church DFW’s Women’s Weekend.

So much love went into every detail, and there were smiles along the way! What a joy to see months of preparation come to life as we made ready for the ladies to arrive.

Before the first guest checked in, the love was already in the room.

This is where our Rooted to Rise story begins. More moments to come!
