Between 1885 - 1887, Charles Lwanga and 21 of his Catholic companions were martyred for the faith. In total, more than 100 Christians were martyred in Uganda during this period, becoming the seeds of the Church in that nation.

Every year, millions of pilgrims from around the globe walk to Namugongo, now one of the most well-visited shrines in the world, to pay homage to the young men who lost their lives in the name of Christ.

Feast of Saints Marcellinus and Peter, Martyrs 🙏
Two Roman martyrs who gave their lives during the Diocletian persecution around 303. Marcellinus was a priest and Peter an exorcist. Their witness was so powerful that Constantine later built a magnificent basilica in their honor. Their names are still mentioned in the Canon of the Mass.

O God, who surround us with the protection of the glorious Martyrs Saints Marcellinus and Peter, grant that we may imitate their faith and be strengthened by their prayers. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Holy Martyrs, pray for us!

❤️ June is dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The heart is the universal symbol of love. In this beautiful Catholic devotion, we honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus — through which God’s infinite love for humanity was revealed. “God is Love” (1 John 4:8).

The image of the Sacred Heart shows Jesus with His heart exposed, encircled by thorns, aflame with love, and topped with a cross — symbols of His passion, sacrifice, and burning charity for us.

This devotion calls us to remember Christ’s profound love and total sacrifice, often met with ingratitude — even from His own. It invites us to return that love with gratitude, giving Him our whole heart, soul, and strength.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be loved and glorified forever. ❤️
