Celebrate Recovery at Custer Road UMC

Celebrate Recovery at Custer Road UMC Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a safe place for adults to share struggles, strengths, hurts and hopes in a Christ-centered recovery program. CR is for everyone.

Join us each Tuesday evening. Lite Snack at 6:30, Large Group at 7, Open Share at 8, and Fellowship at 8:45 pm. No matter what you may be struggling with, we trust you will find the healing you need through our one and only higher power Jesus Christ. Celebrate Recovery is not a quick fix but it does produce miracles for those who are willing to follow God's pace of change in their lives. Our progr

am meets every Tuesday night (including holidays) at Custer Road UMC in Plano. Large Group Meeting at 7 p.m. and Open Share Group at 8 p.m. Each week we also have a lite snack at 6:30 p.m., and on the Tuesday of every month is Chip Night and a potluck dinner. Open Share Meetings are broken into gender-specific groups. We meet back together for coffee in The Crossings at 8:45 p.m., a casual coffee and dessert time when conversations continue, sponsors and accountability partners are found, etc., and we close down at 9:15 p.m. Our meetings satisfy requirements for those needing to attend 12-Step recovery programs. Our Celebrate Recovery ministry also includes gender-specific 12-step studies. These groups meet on different days and times. They are open for approximately three months before they close to new participants for the duration of the commitment, which is usually nine months. Contact a CR Ministry Leader for more information about step studies. At CR, we believe everybody needs recovery and none of us have arrived or will arrive until Jesus comes back. There is no need to sign up, just show up. It is a ministry for anyone with a hurt, habit or hang-up. In CR, we believe there isn't anyone who that doesn't cover. We would love for you to come be a part of the life-changing ministry that has allowed us to experience true freedom by restoring relationships, first of all with God, and then with others. We believe it is vital to walk this road of life together. One of our ground rules is the guarantee of anonymity. We respect each other's confidentiality and seek to keep CR a safe place for everyone. We ask all participants to honor that commitment for others and expect it for yourself. Give Celebrate Recovery a try and invite friends to do so as well. We provide Christ-centered, authentic, nonjudgmental, confidential, and accountable support, community, worship and direction for anyone on the path to victory over hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Who you see there and what you hear there will remain there. No RSVP required or attendance taken.

šŸŒ„ The enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came so that we may have life—and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

Sometimes life's deepest hurts leave us wondering: Why did this happen? Is there any purpose in the pain?

At Celebrate Recovery, we believe God never wastes a hurt. He can bring hope, healing, and redemption out of even our most difficult circumstances.

šŸ’™ This Tuesday night, hear Niki from The Branch share her powerful testimony of God's faithfulness through life's challenges. Her story is a reminder that our struggles do not have the final word and that true healing and transformation are possible through Christ.

✨ Come be encouraged.
✨ Find hope.
✨ Experience community.

This Tuesday night at Celebrate Recovery, Gene will be teaching Lesson 4: ā€œSpiritual Inventory Part 1.ā€

One of the hardest choices we make in recovery is choosing honesty — taking a real look at our hearts and allowing God to reveal the places where healing and freedom are still needed. Using the ā€œSpiritual Evaluationā€ developed by Pastor Rick Warren, we’ll begin examining our lives and inviting God to lead us toward lasting transformation.

Recovery begins with honesty.
Freedom begins with surrender.
Healing begins when we let God search our hearts. ✨

No matter what hurts, habits, or hang-ups you may be facing, you are welcome here. Join us Tuesday night at 7pm at Custer Rd Celebrate Recovery for hope, healing, and community.

This week at Celebrate Recovery, Pete will be teaching the lesson ā€œSponsor.ā€

We’ve been building a foundation—starting with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the true source of healing and hope. But recovery isn’t meant to be walked alone. God gives us three key relationships: with Jesus, with a recovery community, and with a sponsor—someone who walks beside you with honesty, wisdom, and accountability.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure of your next step, this is for you.

Join us Tuesday night at 7pm at Custer Rd Celebrate Recovery.

Here's praying you are meditating on what Christ did for us many years ago on this Good Friday.

From Celebrate Recovery Official
THE DARKEST HOUR

The crown.
The carry.
The nails.
The cross.

Friday of Holy Week is the day we remember the weight of the sacrifice.

Jesus was mocked, beaten, and led to the cross. He carried what we could not carry on our own. He wore the crown of thorns. He endured the nails. He gave His life in love.

What looked like the darkest hour…
It was actually the moment grace was being poured out.

ā€œBut He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.ā€
— Isaiah 53:5

Good Friday reminds us that Jesus stepped into suffering so we could step into freedom.

The cross was not the end of the story.
But it was the price of redemption.
