Sent Kids

Sent Kids Sent Kids exists to provide updates, ideas and encouragement for parents.

Sent Kids is a Sunday morning opportunity for children ages six weeks through fifth grade. Using age appropriate activities and engaging environments, we help kids to learn more about Jesus and to take next steps with Him! We partner with parents in discipling their kids by providing resources that will help families: pray together, study the Word of God together, grow together and serve together.

CALLING ALL PARENTS, KIDS, and YOUTH!

We invite all parents, kids, and youth to participate in creating a unique montage video featuring the children of Sent Church reciting the Christmas Story for our Christmas Eve Service.

All you need to do is dress your child in red, green, or white (you can choose casual or fancy attire) and have them stand in front of your lit Christmas tree. Record a video of them reciting the Christmas story mentioned below.

Since the story is quite long, it’s perfectly fine for your child to repeat it after you line by line. If you have more than one child, they can take turns reciting different parts of the story together as a family.

Here are a few things to keep in mind while recording:

- Ensure the recording is done in landscape mode.
- Have your child speak clearly and loudly, without any background noise.
- Choose appropriate clothing for them.
- Make sure your child's face is clearly visible in good lighting.

Thank you for participating and helping to spread the joy of Christmas! I can't wait to see the videos!

THE CHRISTMAS STORY
For to us a Child is born to us a Son is given
And the government will be on His shoulders and He will be called
Wonderful Counselor Mighty God Everlasting Father Prince of Peace
Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end
He will reign on David's throne and over His kingdom
Establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
From that time on and forever

Use play dough, building blocks, or any other craft or toy items to make a “statue.” Invite one person to make a statue, then give the rest of your family one minute to try and recreate that statue. Use this fun game to talk about how we are made in God’s image. We can trust that He always knows what’s best for us because He made us.

Take 1 day this week to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
1. When is it easy and when is it difficult to follow what God says?
2. In those difficult situations, how can it help to remember that God is the One who made you?

“I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made.” (Psalm 139:14a)

If I were to ask you what you value and appreciate about your family, you could probably talk to me for an hour. But what do you value and appreciate about yourself? This month we’re teaching kids that they are uniquely designed but know that this is true for adults too! Every detail about you was determined by God and made on purpose. This week, rest in the encouraging truth that you are remarkably and wondrously made by God.

This May we are introducing a new theme, Amp It Up, which will focus on the Simple Truth, “I Am Here to Share Jesus.” We will teach kids that part of their God -designed identity is to tell others about Jesus — they can tell their family, their friends, their neighbors, and the world!

We can’t wait to help kids know more about the unique way God has equipped them to share Jesus!

Take time today to pray as a family— talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:
1. Thank God for helping us live set apart for Him.
2. Ask God to help you stand apart, stand strong, stand patiently, and stand up for Him.
3. Pray for one another.
4. Choose one or two other people to pray for— to know that God loves them and how they can live set apart for His glory.

Take 1 day this week to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
1. How can following Jesus change a person?
2. How can sharing a story about how Jesus loves us help someone else?
