The people nobody wanted around kept finding their way toward Jesus, and He kept pulling out a chair.

This Sunday we opened a new series called Table Church, and Brad Kirby walked us through Luke 15, where Jesus is criticized for one thing: He welcomes people to His table and eats with them. His response was two short stories about a lost sheep and a lost coin, and five glimpses into what God is actually like.

1️⃣ God notices who is missing

2️⃣ God doesn't wait. He goes looking

3️⃣ Grace welcomes you close and calls you home

4️⃣ Heaven throws a party when one person comes home

5️⃣ God's heart is meant to become our heart

Every one of us has been the one. Every one of us has been searched for.

What if the most important thing you ever do for someone is simply introduce them to Jesus?

This Sunday Brad Kirby closed out week four of Made Here with a picture that's hard to shake: water that stops moving stops giving life. The same thing can happen to us. Everything God pours in was always meant to flow back out.

Here's what that looks like:
1️⃣ Saved people are sent people

2️⃣ Serve here

3️⃣ Share near

4️⃣ Go far

5️⃣ Multiply everywhere

Andrew never preached at Pentecost. He just brought his brother Peter, and Peter did. One invitation, and the whole thing changed.

You don't have to be a pastor. You don't have to move overseas. You just have to notice the people God already put in front of you.

Forgiving people. Resisting temptation. Holding onto hope when everything has gone off the rails. Loving difficult people. Making wise decisions. Talking about Jesus. Serving Him faithfully.

Every one of those requires strength. And you don’t have enough of it on your own.

It requires wisdom you don’t have. It requires courage you can’t manufacture.

That’s exactly why God gives us His Word. To feed us. Form us. Strengthen us. Equip us.

Sunday on the lawn, people went public with their faith in Jesus. Every one of them stepped into that water carrying an old story and came up with a new one.

That's what baptism is. It doesn't earn anything or finish anything. It announces something: the old is gone, the new has come. Jesus did the work. They said yes to it, out loud, in front of everybody.

And the crowd on the grass? They celebrated like it was the best news they'd heard all year. Because it is.

To everyone who got baptized Sunday, we are so proud of you. This is day one.

Wondering if this could be your story too? Find out more at citybridgechurch.org/baptism.

There’s a big difference between “You guys need to go serve” and “We are going.”

Kids don’t just need to be told. They need to see it. And they need to see their parents doing it with joy, not obligation.

That’s what makes it stick. You serve with your kids. You look for the small opportunities in everyday life. You set the example, and they start having fun with it.
