Here are some final photos from the Youth Choir’s trip to DC. On their last day they visited the home of George Washington at Mount Vernon and had some time in Old Town Alexandria before heading to the airport. It was a wonderful way to close out the tour!

Catching up on some of our favorite moments from the Youth Choir’s tour to DC. Last Friday, the Youth Choir laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery, a very moving and impactful experience. After the ceremony, one of our singers was able to find where her great grandfather lay and visited his gravesite. From Arlington they traveled to the Steven Udvar-Hazy Center for Air and Space, followed by a campus tour of George Mason University. They ended their busy day with an outdoor concert to a very warm and receptive audience.

The Christ United Youth Choir visited members of the US Army Chorus from the US Army Band yesterday and had a wonderful time hearing these amazing musicians’ voices and their stories. We’re having a great time exploring DC! The youth choir so far got to see the National Cathedral, the National African American History Museum, and sang at Knollwood Retirement Community. It’s been a fun couple of days and we are looking forward to more!
