Holy Week Services at Plano Methodist Church

The Plano Methodist Church located at 219 N. Hale Street offers the following worship services during Holy Week:

March 29, Palm Sunday, 10 am worship service – beginning of Holy Week representing JESUS’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Children will be singing and handing out palms.

April 2, Maundy Thursday Passover Supper, 6 to 8 pm – Experience symbolic foods, Scripture readings, and a guided reflection of the meal JESUS shared with His disciples on the night before His crucifixion. There is a $10 donation to participate (https://bit.ly/2026SupperSignup).

April 3, Good Friday Observance, join us as early as 6 pm or leave before we end at 8 pm. The service consists of a series of 15 minute segments – songs to reflect upon, gospel readings, time to pray, walk a labyrinth, and participate in spiritual disciplines.

April 5, Easter Sunday Services at 6:30 am and 10 am – celebrate the resurrection of JESUS Christ symbolizing victory over sin and death and offering hope of eternal life.

These services are open to the public and community members of all backgrounds are welcome to attend.

Beginning February 22nd, from 6:30pm - 8pm, we’ll be beginning “Come & Be—Living Lent like the Early Church.”

The early Christians didn’t just attend worship—they gathered around tables, opened Scripture together, prayed, and learned how to live their faith in real life. During Lent, we’ll be doing the same: sharing a meal, reflecting on the sermon, and exploring how God has always used the table to form His people.

If you’re curious about what early Christian community really looked like, we invite you to come and explore with us.

The Plano Methodist Church, located at 219 N. Hale Street in Plano, will host a Christmas Sale on Saturday, November 22, from 9 am to 1 pm. The sale will feature a variety of Christmas decorations—depending on donations. For more information regarding the Christmas Sale, please call the church office at (630) 552-3700.

Yesterday evening, 13 members of Plano Methodist Church participated in a service event at Feed My Starving Children, where they helped pack meals destined for Uganda. Together with other volunteer groups, the team prepared 125 boxes, 27,000 meals in total, which will feed 74 children a daily meal for a year.

We give thanks to those who volunteered to aid in this effort.

Plano Methodist Church hosted our 22nd Annual Trunk or Treat this past Sunday, October 12! We welcomed approximately 160 children and showcased 20 amazing trunks. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful event! 👻

Congratulations to our best trunk winners: Arlene Gould and "Santa"! Melanie & Paul came in second for "Fishers of Men" and Plano School District Transportation earned third place with their "haunted bus".

Your support also helped us collect donations for the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. Can't wait for next year!

Plano Methodist Church is participating in this year's Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child has congregation members pack a box with toys, clothing, school supplies, and personal hygiene items. These boxes will then be sent to children in underprivileged countries in which these boxes may be the only gift that these children will receive. All boxes are due at the church on or before November 9.

Plano Methodist Church will be holding a Trunk or Treat in our parking lot on Sunday, October 12, from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Children and those passing out treats are invited to dress in costume. There will be games, a labyrinth, refreshments, a photo booth, and a favorite trunk contest.

If you are interested in providing a trunk or candy, or want more information about the event, please contact the Plano Methodist Church office at 630-552-3700, or Linda Oleson at 630-552-3828. If you are providing a trunk, please arrive at the church with a decorated trunk at 12:30 pm.

Plano Methodist Church is excited to host a Culver’s Share Night at the Culver’s in Plano on Monday, August 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During this time, a portion of all sales will be donated directly to support our church. Come support support us by dining at Culver’s of Plano on August 4th and spreading the word to family and friends.
