One of the most important things we do at PUMC is come together every week and experience the power of God's presence in worship. People of different backgrounds and generations join together at NewDay Praise Worship to celebrate God's promise of each new day - of new life itself - lived with and for God. Live praise music,

a relevant message, and genuine hospitality are the heartbeat of this worship experience. Attire is whatever you find to be comfortable. Jeans, T-shirts, and flip flops are right at home at NewDay Praise. The coffee is always on, and we usually have light snacks available. Soft seating, café tables and chairs, and other seating make the space engaging and comfy. We start worship at 10:00 a.m. Worship includes live music, some singing (if you want to and you are in to that kind of thing), and a message that helps connect the Bible and the story of Jesus to our everyday, real world, lives. Kids are always welcome in NewDay Praise Worship. Some families choose to worship together in NewDay and some children go to infant/toddler care or Bible Explorers. Bible Explorers is a safe place for students Pre-K through Grade 5 to learn and have fun. Bring the kids to worship with you and a friendly volunteer will help you find their classroom if you want to check it out. In NewDay Praise Worship we seek to create a space and an experience where people who don’t know Jesus can meet him, those who do know Jesus can grow in that relationship, and everyone can find a warm welcome and a safe place to ask questions and talk about faith. Do Sunday a little differently this weekend. Join us at PUMC for NewDay Praise Worship.

We will explore how God has always brought peace into chaos, beginning with the “tohu wa-bohu” of Genesis 1 and continuing through Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4. Through both passages, we see that God does not abandon chaotic seasons but instead enters them, hovers over them, and speaks peace into them. Whether we are facing major transitions, uncertainty, or storms in life, the same voice that said “Let there be light” still speaks “Peace, be still” today.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner! Some of our weekday teachers are planning a sweet project—adding each child’s hand print to a white coffee mug as a keepsake gift.

Instead of purchasing new mugs, we’d love to give gently used white coffee cups a second life. If you have any with at least one blank side that you’re willing to donate, it would mean so much to us (and help reduce waste too!). We will need them by May 1. Thank you for supporting our classrooms!

Contact Charity Aton at [email protected] with questions or donations. Donations can also be dropped off in the main office.

He Is Risen!

Easter is always a magical time. We had a great weekend last week. Below are just a few pictures that Jasmyne Romero from Luminous Explorations took over the course a 2 days. Let us know which ones are your favorite. We will be adding 5 to PUMC’s Life in the Year of the Church wall.

We share with heavy hearts and deep gratitude the passing of Lynn Ellen Blosser (née Hillsamer), who entered eternal rest on March 25, 2026, at the age of 75.

Lynn was a devoted wife to Rev. Theodore Blosser and a woman whose life overflowed with faith, music, and love for others. A gifted musician and faithful servant, she spent decades leading choirs, directing handbells, and creating worship that lifted hearts to God. Even through lifelong health challenges, she lived with strength, grace, and a deep sense of purpose.

Lynn is survived by her son, Daniel (Susan), and her grandchildren, Andrew and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, from 12–3 p.m., with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Plainfield United Methodist Church. The service will also be live streamed at https://pumc.sermon.net/broadcast/broadcast/21869390.

We give thanks for Lynn’s life and the love she shared so freely. Her song continues in all of us.

Bring a little beauty with you this Easter.

On Easter Sunday, we invite you to bring fresh flowers to worship as we flower the cross together. It’s a simple, meaningful way to celebrate the resurrection—watching the cross become a sign of new life, color, and hope.

Bring whatever you have—flowers from your yard, a small bouquet from the store, bright blooms or simple stems. Every flower matters, and every one helps tell the story: Christ is risen.

We can’t wait to see the cross come alive—with you. 🌸✝️
