Our Mission:
United with Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will proclaim the three angelsβ messages to every person, restore people to wholeness, and equip them for service. The First Indonesian Seventh-day Adventist Church (FISDAC) is a welcoming and vibrant faith community dedicated to worship, fellowship, and service. The church was originally established as Merrill Congregation, fir
st convening in Merrill Park, Colonia, New Jersey, in March 1998, under the leadership of the Late Pastor Johnnie A. On April 18, 1999, the Executive Committee of the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventists officially recognized Merrill Congregation with company status. Later, on June 20, 1999, the congregation was formally accepted by the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and, for the first time, began using the name:
FIRST INDONESIAN SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH (FISDAC). A significant milestone in the churchβs history was reached on February 16, 2022, when the congregation purchased its own church building at 314 Leland Ave., Plainfield, NJ. As of 2025, the church has approximately 96 members and continues to thrive under the leadership of Pastor Steven Rantung, Ph.D., who has faithfully pastored FISDAC for over 12 years since April 2013. Affiliated with the Allegheny East Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, FISDAC is committed to spreading the gospel and fostering spiritual growth. One of its most impactful ministries is its online daily Bible study, which began in April 2020 and now reaches over 250 participants through Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube. Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the First Indonesian SDA Church remains a beacon of faith, community, and outreach, striving to nurture both its local congregation and a broader online audience.
