Join us at Joliet Pride 2026 — volunteers needed
Plainfield Congregational Church UCC is excited to join our community for Joliet PrideFest 2026!

📅 Saturday, September 19, 2026
⏰ 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
📍Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park — 201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, Illinois

We're looking for volunteers to help us staff our table throughout the day. You don't have to stay for the entire event — whether you can give us an hour, a few hours, or more, we would love to have you join us.

Come help us greet people, share information about Plainfield UCC, and represent our congregation as we celebrate love, inclusion, faith, and community. 🌈

Extreme Heat Warning for Plainfield starting today through at least Wednesday.

Temperatures are will be dangerously high today. As a community of faith, we're called to look out for one another — especially our most vulnerable neighbors.

A few things to keep in mind:

— Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day
— Drink water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty
— Check on elderly neighbors, anyone living alone, or those without air conditioning
— Bring pets inside, and never leave children or animals in a parked car
— Cooling centers are available in Will County — find a location near you: www.willcountyema.org/warmingcooling

Happy Monday, Plainfield! 🌸🌧️

Looks like we are in for a stormy start to the week! But even with the gray skies and thunder, we can still find some bright spots—like this gorgeous pink peony about to soak up the rain. It turns out those raindrops are exactly what spring needs to keep blooming.

Whether you are out navigating the puddles today or staying cozy inside with a warm cup of coffee, we hope you stay safe and find a little bit of peace in the middle of the storms.
