Happy Pride Month from Plainfield Congregational Church!

Today marks the beginning of Pride Month (and June), and we are throwing our doors and hearts wide open to celebrate our LGBTQ+ siblings! At Plainfield Congregational, we don’t just tolerate diversity—we celebrate it as a beautiful, essential reflection of God’s creation.

We want to remind you today and every day: God loves you exactly as you are. As a proud Open and Affirming congregation, our promise remains true:

Happy Monday, Plainfield! 🌸🌧️

Looks like we are in for a stormy start to the week! But even with the gray skies and thunder, we can still find some bright spots—like this gorgeous pink peony about to soak up the rain. It turns out those raindrops are exactly what spring needs to keep blooming.

Whether you are out navigating the puddles today or staying cozy inside with a warm cup of coffee, we hope you stay safe and find a little bit of peace in the middle of the storms.

Happy World Art Day!

In the United Church of Christ, we worship a Creator God, which means human creativity is a profoundly holy act. When we paint, sing, write, or build, we are reflecting the Imago Dei—the beautiful image of God within us.

Art isn't just decoration; it's how we express extravagant welcome, how we dream of a more just world, and how we listen to where the Spirit is moving next. God is still speaking, and today, we celebrate all the artists who help us see and hear that divine voice in new ways!

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️ In our faith tradition, we believe that God is wildly creative and that every single person is wonderfully made in the Imago Dei (the image of God). To our trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive siblings: we see you, we celebrate the beautiful truth of who you are, and you are beloved exactly as you are. You are an essential part of our beloved community.
