COME TO CAMP CRESCENT THIS AUGUST!
Stepping Out in Faith to Move Mountains and Cross Rivers of Change: A Summer Challenge at CAPC
Summer has long been a time to step away from the regular challenges of life to head to cooler climes (if you have the resources) or to change our routines (even if you do not). It is a reminder that our lives are more than the daily grinds we face, constantly scaling the mountains life seems to keep throwing in our paths.
For the next three weeks CAPC is embarking on a summer challenge that is supposed to remind us of camp days (even if we have never had the chance to go, I know I never did and maybe you didn't either). We will be singing hymns in worship that recall Bible camp themes (they are fun, everyone knows them, and they will hopefully find us humming them during the week), and our weekly message will incorporate our theme.
But there's more. We will be distributing camp snacks (s'mores, trail mix, etc) to help get us in the spirit and even a craft that, yes, we ARE asking you to do. This is a reminder to take some time for yourself (it doesn't have to be a lot), have some FUN, and breathe in the summertime vibe before it goes away. We hope you will bring in your finished crafts to share or take pictures of the finished product so we can email to everyone to see. Footprints with messages, rock painting, and tent building that frames what we love, Who doesn't love to get lost in a craft? I look forward to see what you put together.
ALSO, what is camp without stories? If you have a camp story that you'd like to share (is appropriate, funny, short, inspiring), please send it to me and I will send on to the congregation. Like sitting around a campfire, it is a great way to get to know each other more.
