This hot Saturday afternoon, members of the Church gathered at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church on Watchung Avenue in Plainfield, New Jersey, for the Solemn Liturgy celebrating the life and home-going of our beloved Patriarch, Pa George Kumi Intsiful.

The Mass of Christian Burial was presided over by our Rector and Director of Global Missions of the Church Without Boundaries—the Church Where Everybody Is Somebody—The Venerable Prof. Gideon Uzomechina.

Preaching from John 14:1–6, Father Gideon reminded the congregation that in moments such as these, when grief weighs heavily upon our hearts, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ offer comfort, assurance, and hope. Reflecting on Jesus’ promise, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me,” he encouraged all gathered, especially the Intsiful family, not to allow sorrow to rob them of hope. He emphasized that Christ has prepared an eternal home for all God’s faithful children and that death is not the end, but the doorway to everlasting life.

The service was marked by heartfelt prayers, sacred hymns, and thanksgiving to God for the remarkable life, faith, and legacy of Pa George, whose memory will continue to inspire generations to come.

May the soul of Pa George Kumi Intsiful, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of Christ, rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen.

This Saturday, June 6, 2026, we will gather at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, Plainfield, New Jersey, to celebrate the home-going and give thanks for the life of our beloved Patriarch, Pa George Intsiful, whom God has called to eternal glory.

The Solemn Liturgy of Christian Burial will be presided over by our Rector, Father Gideon. Following the liturgy, a repast will be held in the Church Assembly Hall.

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, a Mass of Thanksgiving for the life and witness of Pa George will be celebrated at our parish in Plainfield at 11:00 a.m.

As we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in the promise of the Resurrection and the hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, ‘Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” - Revelation 14:13

We had a phenomenal celebration in the church today as we honored a number of special occasions and milestones.

First, we joyfully celebrated the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mother Pat and her husband, Michael. Congratulations to this wonderful couple on reaching such a remarkable milestone. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mother Pat, Patricia Baptiste, for graciously hosting the wonderful Coffee Hour reception following the service.

We were also pleased to welcome and worship with Jay Vaingankar and his campaign manager. Jay, at 28 years old, is the youngest candidate contesting for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District election, which will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. We pray that God’s will be done in his life and in the election process.

In addition, we presented our May Homage to God. I sincerely thank all the members and groups who participated and contributed to making the occasion meaningful and successful. Congratulations to Group 3 – JOY GROUP, which presented the highest Homage to God and emerged as the winner. The championship trophy 🏆 was presented to the group in recognition of their dedication and commitment.

May God continue to bless every faithful, dedicated, and committed member of The Anglican Church of the Messiah, Plainfield, New Jersey — The Church Without Boundaries, where everybody is somebody. May His grace and favor remain with us all. Amen.

Waiting has a way of teaching us dependence on God and dependence on one another.

The disciples had different personalities, different backgrounds, and different opinions. Peter was very impulsive, Thomas doubted, John was emotional, Matthew was a tax collector, and Simon had been a political zealot; Yet in the Upper Room, they waited together in prayer.

Sometimes God allows us to wait because He is trying to bring His people into unity before releasing the next blessing.

We wish you a unified and blessed PENTECOST.
