Oh, let us turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King
And recognize that there are ties between us
All men and women, living on the earth
Ties of hope and love, sister and brotherhood

More than ever, this is a time to remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his vision for a beloved community. This Sunday at noon, we will gather at the Grace United Methodist Church (the one with the stone wall) to celebrate the life of Dr. King and think about what that means for us today. Listen as we ring the bell of freedom, calling us to come together.

Starting this Sunday, June 15, 2025, the Grace United Methodist Church in Plainfield Village will be immersing ourselves in thinking about the meaning of love and our call to be a community of embrace. The Summer of Love will be looking at the five Greek words that are different descriptions of love as used in the Bible. Each week, we will explore a different perspective on love. So, put on your tie-dye, put a flower in your hair, and join us as we celebrate together the Summer of Love.

While we won't be holding an Ash Wednesday service at Grace today, there are opportunities for participating in a service throughout the region. The Northfield United Methodist Parish will be hosting a service with the imposition of ashes at noon today in Northfield. Trinity UMC and Bethany UCC are coming together at 5:30 p.m. today for a combined worship experience. We're sorry that we couldn't work out a Plainfield experience this year, but we hope to in the future.
