What happens when we die? Is there really a heaven or hell? This week, the wheel landed on one of Christianity and life’s biggest questions: heaven, hell and what happens when we die? As we explore what Scripture teaches about death and eternity, we’ll discover that while the Bible doesn’t answer every question, it does give us hope. Most importantly, Jesus reminds us that He is “the resurrection and the life.” Together, we’ll consider what it means to trust God with the mysteries of eternity and live with hope today, knowing that death does not have the final word.

Donate items to pack flood buckets by this Sunday, 9/6

Ohio communities are facing significant needs following recent flooding, and Jerome Church is helping provide practical support through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). We’re collecting supplies to assemble 10 flood/cleaning buckets filled with essential cleaning and recovery items for individuals and families affected by disaster.

You can help in one of three ways:

Life is full of big questions, and sometimes the ones we're afraid to ask are the ones we think about the most. What happens after we die? Can we trust the Bible? Why does God allow suffering? How do we know when God is speaking?

Who gets in? What does it mean to be saved, and what about people who believe differently? This week, the wheel landed on one of Christianity’s most challenging questions: Who gets in? As we explore faith, salvation, and other religions, we’ll look at what the Bible teaches about who Jesus came to save, what it means to put our faith in Him, and how we understand those who have never heard about Jesus or follow a different faith. We’ll also explore what United Methodists believe about salvation and God’s grace. It’s a difficult question, but one worth asking as we seek to understand God’s heart and His plan for salvation.

Did Jesus really exist? And if He did, what difference does His existence make for us today? This week, the wheel landed on one of Christianity’s biggest questions: did Jesus really exist? As we look at Luke 2:1-2 and Matthew 16:3-16, we’ll explore both the historical reality of Jesus and the more personal question Jesus asks each of us: Who do you say that I am? Because Jesus isn’t simply someone who existed in history, He is someone who invites us to decide what His life, His identity, and His presence mean for our lives today.

A HUGE thank-you to the Jerome Township Division of Fire (Union County) for being such amazing community partners!

They’re always ready to serve our community, and they’ve been right there with us partnering for VBS and Safety Week, our Habitat Wall Build, and so much more.

So when they got a new ladder truck, we figured there was only one appropriate way to celebrate at our church picnic:

DROP. THE. FRUIT! 🍉🍈🍉

Pastor Bruce and Tara took their shot at dropping fruit into baby pools from the ladder truck. And we may have accidentally turned it into a competition. 😂

🏆 Pastor Bruce wins for getting the most melons in the pool.

🎯 Tara wins for the bullseye watermelon shot.

Thanks to the Jerome Township Fire Department for bringing the truck, the fun, and your incredible team to our picnic!

We’re so grateful for partners who show up, serve alongside us, and know how to have a little fun along the way!

What. A. DAY! 🙌☀️🍦

Today was one of those days that reminded us just how good it is to worship, have fun, and grow together as a community.

We prayed over our students and educators at Blessing of the Backpacks, shared a meal and lots of laughs at our Picnic in the Parking Lot, cooled off on the slip ’n slide, and watched fruit fly from the ladder truck! 🍉🚒 A huge thank-you to the Jerome Township Fire Department for bringing the fun!

And we weren’t done yet! We wrapped up the day with a fantastic Olentangy River District youth event, with plenty of ice cream and Dole Whip from Cup of Joy keeping everyone fueled along the way. 🍦

So grateful for a day filled with faith, friendship, laughter, and community. What a JOY to be the church together!

In our final week of our Summer Baggage series, we're unpacking the baggage of jealousy and envy and making room for contentment and gratitude. We'll discover how comparison can keep us focused on what others have instead of recognizing the blessings God has already placed in our lives. Join us as we learn to leave behind the baggage of comparison and cultivate grateful hearts that celebrate what God has given us.
