Our Annual Charge Conference will be held this evening, Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 pm at Jerome Church, with District Superintendent Rev. Jim Wilson presiding. This time together will include a celebration of ministry, and required Charge Conference paperwork and reports will be completed and prayed over. All are welcome to attend, but only members of Jerome Church may vote on agenda items. Our first Serve Sunday was all about standing in the gap and putting God’s love into action! From meeting practical needs to encouraging others and building connections, we took small steps toward closing the gap between the world as it is and the world as God intends it to be.

Thanks to everyone who showed up, served, and shared God’s love with our neighbors! It was so much FUN to try something new together! ❤️

What happens when we move from discerning where God is calling us to responding with action? In this final week of Break My Heart, we’ll explore what it means to stand in the gap between the world as it is and the world as God intends it to be. We’ll be reminded that we aren’t called to fix every problem or fill every gap, but we are called to take faithful steps where God leads us. In this podcast-style conversation, we’ll reflect on practical ways to respond to the needs around us through prayer, service, generosity, encouragement, and connection. As we bring this series to a close, we’ll ask: What breaks your heart, and what might God be inviting you to do about it? Because a broken heart isn’t the destination. It’s the beginning of discovering where God is calling us to stand. Break my heart, God, then show me where to stand.

What breaks our hearts? And what happens when we begin to ask what God might be calling us to do about it? This week, we’ll continue exploring Nehemiah 1 and discover how Nehemiah moved from seeing and feeling the brokenness around him to discerning where he was called to respond. He didn’t try to fix every problem or carry every burden. Instead, he prayed, listened, and recognized that God had uniquely positioned him to stand in a particular gap. As we consider the things that break our hearts, we’ll be challenged to ask what God has given us, where God has placed us, and where He might be inviting us to step in. What if God isn’t asking us to fix every gap, but inviting us to discern which one is ours to stand in?

What breaks our hearts? What happens when we allow ourselves to truly see the needs and brokenness around us? This week, we’ll explore Nehemiah 1 and discover what happened when Nehemiah heard about the suffering of his people. He didn’t simply notice the brokenness and move on. He allowed himself to feel it, brought it to God, and began to discern what he might do. As we consider what breaks our hearts, we’ll be challenged to pay attention to the gaps around us and ask where God might be inviting us to respond. What if the things that break our hearts are also revealing where God is inviting us to stand in the gap?

What breaks Jesus’s heart? What happens when we begin to see people the way Jesus sees them? This week, we’ll explore Luke 19 and Matthew 9 and discover how Jesus was deeply moved by the people around him. Jesus saw the crowds, noticed those who were hurting and overlooked, and responded with compassion. As we consider the heart of Jesus, we’ll be challenged to move beyond simply noticing the needs around us and allow God to move our hearts toward the people He loves. What if Jesus is inviting us to see what we’ve learned to overlook, feel what He feels, and move toward others with compassion?

🏠🔨 What a day! Rain may have changed our plans, but it didn’t stop us from building hope! Today, an incredible group of volunteers came together to build the walls of TWO homes for TWO families, partnering with Habitat for Humanity in Logan County and Wood County.

When the rain came, we brought the build inside to the gym, and what could have been a setback became one of the most memorable parts of the day. We worked side by side, laughed together, encouraged one another, and built stronger connections with our crews. The walls weren’t the only thing we built today. We built community, friendships, and memories that will last far beyond this morning.

A HUGE thank you to every volunteer who showed up ready to serve, to Help Build Hope, the Jerome Township Division of Fire (Union County) our generous sponsors, Beloved United Methodist Church of Marysville, King Avenue UMC, and our fellow Olentangy River District, United Methodist Church churches and volunteers who joined us for this meaningful day.

And most of all, thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and talents to help make homes possible for two families. We are so grateful for the hands and hearts that made today happen!

What a beautiful reminder that even when the plans change, God can still build something amazing.
