These pictures capture just a small glimpse of an amazing mission trip week in Chicago! This team worked hard, served selflessly and loved others so well! Their energy, compassion and servant hearts were a blessing to everyone they encountered. We couldn’t be more proud of these students. Thank you for cheering them on, supporting and praying for this group while we were there.

In Week 5 of Back to Basics, we revisit one of the Bible's most familiar stories: David and Goliath. While everyone else saw an unbeatable giant, David saw an opportunity to trust in a God who had been faithful before and would be faithful again. This message reminds us that victory doesn't come from our own strength, abilities, or resources, but from trusting the God who is bigger than any challenge we face. When fear focuses on the size of the obstacle, faith remembers the greatness of God.

In Week 4 of Back to Basics, we explore the story of the parting of the Red Sea and discover what happens when God’s people find themselves trapped with no clear way forward. Surrounded by fear and uncertainty, the Israelites learn that deliverance comes not from their own strength, but from God’s power. This message reminds us that when life feels overwhelming or impossible, we can trust the God who still makes a way where there seems to be no way.

A quick update from the Chicago Mission Team: we had a successful first day of serving yesterday, and looking forward to getting back out there today. Check out some of the pictures from our first two days here.

Looks like we have some “fun” weather headed our way Wednesday night. We would appreciate your prayers for safety of the storm hits. And we appreciated your continued prayers as we continue to serve and spread God’s love to all the people we encounter during our time here!

In Week 3 of Back to Basics, we explore the stories of Noah and Abraham and discover what they have in common: both were called to trust God when the future was uncertain and the path ahead made little sense. In both stories, God proved Himself faithful by providing exactly what was needed at exactly the right time. This message invites us to consider where God may be calling us to trust Him today and to remember that the God who provided for Noah, Abraham, and ultimately through Jesus, is still faithful to provide for us.

As the serpent causes humanity to question God’s goodness, Adam and Eve choose control over trust, and shame, fear, and separation quickly follow. Yet even in the middle of failure, God still pursues His people. Through Genesis 1–2 and Acts 2, we’ll explore what it means to be created in the image of God and filled with the same Spirit that brought life at creation and power at Pentecost. And while sin distorted what God created, God still desires to restore and empower His people through the Holy Spirit.
